What You Can Do!

To solve climate change

                      DAVID SUZUKI FOUNDATION WEBSITE
Climate Change:
SOLUTIONS
Greenhouse gas emissions can be greatly reduced many different
ways. Most of the solutions involve increasing the efficiency of
our energy use to reduce fossil fuel demand while maintaining or
improving our lifestyles.
Many of the potential solutions have benefits beyond greenhouse
gas reduction, such as increased employment stimulation of the
green technology manufacturing sector and reduced urban air
pollution.
A combination of public interest and government sponsored
programs can make these solutions a reality.
* Industry: Industry can reduce emissions in flexible,
cost-effective ways that reduce waste and enhance long-term
profits.
* Transportation: A reduction in automobile use, improved fuel
efficiency standards, and better public transit would reduce
greenhouse gas emissions as well as urban air pollution.
* Urban Planning. Learn about the benefits of sustainable urban
design, and how you can stop sprawl in your community.
* Buildings. Effective building retrofits increase energy
efficiency, save consumers money on heating and electricity
bills, and are available today.
* Green Leaders Some businesses and municipalities realize the
sound economics of climate solutions and have embraced
innovation.

Science of: IPCC
Key Findings:
* Climate Change is happening
* Warming has already had effects
* Greenhouse gas emissions and their atmospheric effects are
increasing
* Human activity is responsible
* Humans will continue to cause climate change through the 21st
century

WHY HELP IN CLIMATE CHANGE
CLIMATE CHANGE IS HAPPENING:
THE WORLD IS WARMING AND THE CLIMATE SYSTEM IS CHANGING.
As shown in the part of this figure, the global average surface
temperature increased over the 20th century by 0.6 C, after
processing the data to remove various biases including urban heat
island effects.
The second part of the figure shows a compilation of northern
hemisphere temperatures over the past 1,000 years. Clearly,
average global temperature are increasing beyond the range
observed for the past millennium.
WARMING HAS ALREADY HAD EFFECTS:
+ Snow extent has decreased by about 10% since the 1960s, while
mountain glaciers have retreated rapidly and Northern Hemisphere
sea ice cover has substantially declined in recent decades.
+ Global average sea level rose by 10 to 20 cm during the 20th
century, and the amount of heat stored in the oceans has
measurably increased since observations began in the 1950s.
+ Rainfall patterns have changed in the Northern Hemisphere, with
generally more rain at high latitudes and near the equator and
less in the subtropics. There has also been a shift to heavier
rainfalls at high latitudes.
+ Warm El Nino episodes have been more frequent, persistent and
intense since the mid-1970s than during the previous 100 years.

Note:
I'm sure there are MANY MORE Websites on the Internet devoted to
PROVING THE SCIENCE FACT OF AT LEAST 150 NATIONS AND THEIR
SCIENTISTS, THAT AGREE AND SUBSTANTIATE WITH FACTS AND FIGURES,
THE TRUTH OF GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE BE IT WARMING, IN SOME PARTS,
GETTING COLDER IN OTHER PARTS, AND ICE MELTING IN THE NORTH AND
SOUTH POLES. THESE SCIENTISTS ARE FROM ALL RELIGIONS, AND MANY
FROM NO RELIGIOUS PERSUASION OF ANY KIND.
