Sarah ... Going Rogue

She's back in the Spotlight

                            SARAH'S GOING ROGUE
Well Sarah Palin is going rogue with her new thick book, that
apparently is selling off the shelves. I've looked through it ...
hummmm, will I buy it? Probably not until it's put on the "sale
table" (maybe in a year) at Canada's Largest Book store
"Chapters" for $10.
But it is getting her right out there before the public eye, and
as I've already said, do not be surprised that Sarah gal runs for
leadership of the Republican Party and so the White House in
2012. She could well be just preparing herself, doing her
political homework and study, and come flying out the corner
fighting with two arms and two legs.
About her "down's-syndrome" child. Many, maybe most, know little
about this condition, and while such children have other problems
that go along with it, which can be overcome with some of the
wonders of medical surgery, I was surprised somewhat to hear in
the interview on ABC's 20/20 - Sarah with Barbara Walters - that
90 percent of mothers knowing they are going to have a down's-
syndrome child, choose to kill it through abortion.
I do know something of down's-syndrome children and adults. When
I was a young man in my early 20s learning the Orthopedic
Shoemaking trade in the "Council for Crippled Children"
establishment in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, I knew some in the
"sheltered work-shops" we had that had this condition. I saw them
sometimes every day to say hello to and on each Friday lunch time
to entertain all in the work-shop with my guitar. The down's-
syndrome people, whatever else, are happy people. Well the ones I
encountered were always smiling, joyful, easy to be with, just
very pleasant to be around, and very outwardly loving.
So they are not "normal" as "normal" is looked upon by society in
general, but then again there are so many in the music, film,
art, entertainment world, that to me are "strange" and "abnormal"
- I would sooner be around a bunch of down's-syndrome people than
a bunch of these guys and gals. What I think about "modern"
singers could fill the rest of this page, with little if anything
good about them all. You listen to one and you listen to five
hundred and it seems to be the same monotonous sound and beat
over and over again, with half of them shouting and screaming
into the mike, and the wailing and screeching guitars ..... yes
give me a room full of down's-syndrome people anytime before a
room full of these "artsy" guys and gals.
Yes many "normal" people .... I question their normal position as
being perverted and abnormal, in many ways.
Such it is as it was prophesied to be in the last days of this
age.
Enjoy your down's-syndrome child Sarah, they are pleasant and
happy people to be with.
                          .......................
