Much is Happening!

And some interesting history

                            SO MUCH HAPPENING!!
As of April 7th 2010, there is much to report so let's get at it.
7.2 North Mexico earthquake, felt in South California. Much
damage but being very low down in the earth not very many killed. Over
200 after-shocks over 3.0 on the scale. This earthquake is near many
other fault lines. Could the expected MASSIVE earthquake down the
West coast be close? Only time will tell, but they say in time it
will come.
......
West Virginia coal-mine disaster, two dozen or more killed - it
is a life and death kinda job for sure.
......
Toyota is being fined for slow communication (16.4 Million
dollars). They have by law 5 days to report troubles. It was 3
months before Toyota came forth.
Now on Canadian news today it is revealed Toyota had 38,000
complaints since the year 2,000 on unwanted acceleration, and
they either ignored it or said it was driver fault. We now know it was
in probably 99% of cases NOT the driver's fault.
......
Tiger Woods is back in pro golf. Not being a golf fan or player,
that part does not interest me. But they say even if he wins the
USA Open, his wife will not be there. I guess not! After his now
famous infidelities with many women. Adulteries the Bible calls
it for married men or women, I can, putting myself in his wife's
shoes, understand if she wants a divorce. If I were her, I would
find it extremely hard to continue a marriage knowing what he did
for so long a time. Adultery is one of sins given in God's word
for allowing a divorce.
......
Speaking of sex sins; the Roman Catholic church is still under
the gun for some of its priests and bishops all over the world,
guilty of sex abuse with children or under age girls. Some in the
leadership of the RC church saying that such abuse must be handed
over to the police as crimes to the society, which also have
rules you cannot do such things without getting a prison sentence if
indeed found guilty. Some are questioning how much the present
Pope covered up these crimes when he was a Cardinal. Such scandal is
going to set back the RC church a number of years, or a decade,
before it can gain respect or power over Europe. This sin in the
RC church is not new. But my point to you is that God can step in at
any time to use whatever, to keep prophecy of the end times from
being fulfilled, for as long as the Lord desires. The "date
setters" who are always out there, God can laugh at, as He
determines - not man - when this age will come to its close.
......
Haiti is now hit by the "rainy season" and trouble upon trouble
for tens of thousands is going to increase upon the troubles they
already have. Many are still there from around the world trying
to serve and help. Let's pray for them!
......
Iraq - not much peace there, dozens in the last few weeks have
been killed, the people against the people, is still breathing strong.
......
A part of Brazil is hit with rain, upon rain, upon rain, the
worst they say in 30 years. Floods, and landslides, destruction and
some deaths.
......
Spy hackers - largest ever - on the Internet, have been spied on
by Canadian skilled spy catchers. They were amazed as they watched
the spies at work. The spies hit India the most, many "classified"
Indian documents stolen. It is still a question as to why they
especially hit India.
......
Britain is in for Federal election come May 6th. They say it
could be the closest election in many many years. The present
Government has been riddled with scandals over the last few years, and Prime
Minister Brown is not that well liked any more.
......
Think what you like about "Wikileaks" (and others to come like
it) - it is here to stay, and many in high positions of Government or
other "high positions" of whatever, are not going to be able to
keep the "secret" door closed or locked up as it has been for
them in the past. Wiki-leaks is going to probably turn into pouring.
......
The Canadian economy grew by 6.9% in the first quarter of this
year. The USA only 1.9%. But still keep in mind no matter the
painful job seeking problem for the USA, it is still the number
ONE economy in the world at present.
......
I'll finish this meltdown with a few "interesting" goodies.
Reading through those old National Geographic magazines, of April 1899
(remember I told you I sent for their 6 DVD set of every page of
National Geographic since 1888 to 2008). I did not know, don't
imagine you know either, the Saskatchewan River starts in the
Canadian Rockies and goes all the way to Lake Winnipeg. One of
the longest rivers in North America. In 1899 it was navigable for
"steamboats" for 1,000 miles!
Also in the 1899 edition (April), "How long a Whale may carry a
Harpoon" article, was the fact that a whale in the Bering Sea was
caught in with a harpoon head marked with an inscription
"MonTooo" which goes back to an American Whaler "Monezuma" which worked in
the Bering Sea and North Pacific from 1850 to 1854. Taking the
last year of 1854, it means the whale carried that harpoon head for 36
years! Incredible!
Another article of 1899 showed the facts of the size of the
Redwood Belt - it was 2,000 square miles or 1,200,000 acres. Its wood was
exported to Los angels and San Diego, to Chile, to Japan, to
Australia. But in 1899 no red-wood was exported to the Atlantic
coast.
Some interesting little nuggets of history.
