ISRAEL'S GREAT SIN OF ABORTION #1
I call this series "Israel's Great Sin" because, although many
other nations practice abortion, we, the Israel nations of the
West, were founded upon the Bible, and should have known much
better than countries like China, India, Japan and others.
The following is from an old study article by the once "Biblical
Church of God" back in the early 1980s. I believe it was written
by Fred Coulter.

ABORTION
THE DESTRUCTION OF AN UNKNOWN GENERATION
For many years, abortion has been a heated religious and
political issue. Pro-abortionists want abortion on demand as a
right, guaranteed by law. Pro-life advocates are accused of
thrusting religion into politics, while they counter that
abortion is murder! Few have asked, "What does the Creator of
humanity have to say about the destruction of the unborn?" This
article reveals why abortion is the murder of the unborn.
CHAPTER 1
IS ABORTION MURDER?
PICTURE YOURSELF SITTING IN the Rose Bowl waiting for the
traditional New Year's football game to begin. You feel so much a
part of the massive crowd of over 100,000 people. The vivid
expanse of colors, flowers, waving flags and excited rivals
cheering on their teams blend into an exciting and exhilarating
scene. Marching onto the field, smartly stepping in perfect
cadence, the drill teams, bearing the American flag, position
themselves at the midfield stripe.
Piercing over the din of noise and excitement, the announcer
proclaims, "Ladies and Gentlemen, our national anthem. Will you
all stand and sing with the band?" The immense crowd rises to its
feet, momentarily muting the "hoopla" and cheering.
Suddenly, instead of 100,000 voices raised in unison singing
the "Star Spangled Banner", an eerie, strange, icy, cold silence
pervades the entire stadium. Within seconds, as if the spectators
were giant dominoes, they all start dropping dead right before
your very eyes!
How horrible! Within less than one minute, all of those
innocent people are dead.
If one were to take this same scene and reenact it since the
Supreme Court of the United States made abortion legal in 1973,
you would have to repeat it hundreds and hundreds of times to
even begin to mentally and emotionally understand THE MURDER OF
MULTIPLE MILLIONS OF THE MOST HELPLESS AND INNOCENT HUMAN BEINGS
IN OUR SOCIETY - THROUGH LEGALIZED ABORTION.
MORAL CROSSROADS
The United States is standing at the moral crossroads of its
national life! On the one hand, America has been the bulwark of
peace, freedom and human rights in the world. We have opened our
arms to welcome the homeless, the oppressed and the needy. In the
past years since World War II, we have given hundreds of millions
of tons of food to starving peoples. We have given medical
assistance to the sick and injured. We have helped millions build
their lives, factories and countries. In terms of money, this
represents hundreds of billions of dollars!
Because of our high moral standards, love of life, and
defense of the innocent, the United States, England, Canada and
France instituted the trial of war crimes against the leaders of
the Nazi Third Reich. As a people, we held these heinous crimes
against humanity as the most repugnant barbarian inhumane
cruelties ever perpetrated in the history of the world.
As a nation we were outraged when we learned of the ghastly
and ruthless extermination of millions of innocent men, women,
and children. We were appalled at the conditions of deprivation
and starvation in the death camps. It was clear that the Nazis
executed their doctrine of death in the name of the "master race"
with a satanic obsession and ruthless precision.
As a nation, we responded with an outpouring of individual
and national love and compassion because we knew that we were our
brother's keeper.
On the other hand, today, we see that as a nation we have
completely reversed our moral standards.
HOW?
We have accepted as national policy some of the identical
policies of the Nazi Third Reich which we condemned years ago.
Then, we punished the leaders of such crimes with long prison
terms and in some cases death. One Nazi policy we have adopted is
abortion; but WE are doing it under the guise of freedom of
choice while THEY did it under the guise of creating the "master
race."
At the end of World War II, we were sure that Germany's
defeat was God's judgment against an evil government. If God
judged Germany for their national crimes against humanity, then
we should be aware that we are being weighed in the balance of
God's judgment because we have embraced as a national policy the
murder of the most helpless and innocent person - THE UNBORN!
CHAPTER 2
WHEN DOES HUMAN LIFE BEGIN?
To answer the question, "When does human life begin?" - we
must start at the beginning of earth's history.
"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth" (Genesis
1:1). In the following verses we find that this Creator God not
only created the heaven and the earth, but also created the
organic biological life forms, which climaxed with the grandest
of his physical creation - mankind.
"And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:
and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the
fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and
over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth. So God
created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him;
male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God
said unto them, Be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the
earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea,
and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that
moves upon the earth" (Genesis 1:26-28).
THE HUMAN RACE BEGINS
The Creator told these first humans to multiply (i.e. to
have a sexual relationship and procreate). Within the bodies of
these first two humans was the foundation material to build, or
if you will, CREATE another human being - the male with a live
compound we call the sperm, and the female with a live compound
we call the ovum. It is a scientific fact that life only comes
from life. And so it is with the beginning of a new human being
when these two compounds, that are alive and contain the genetic
code for a human, unite, and a new and unique human life begins.
THE MIRACLE OF CONCEPTION
Scientists now know that at conception, which is the union
of the sperm from the father with the ovum or egg of the mother,
individual life begins. When this union occurs, the wall of the
egg instantly becomes impenetrable to other sperm.
The sealing of the impregnated egg is a God-given miracle!
God especially designed this special protection to ensure from
the instant of conception the uniqueness of each newly conceived
human being. This is the beginning of a new life. It is a
separate living entity from the instant of conception.
A sperm has twenty-three chromosomes and even though it is
alive and can fertilize an egg, it can never make another sperm.
An egg also has twenty-three chromosomes and it can never make
another egg. So, we have eggs that cannot reproduce and sperm
that cannot reproduce. But once there is the union of sperm and
egg, and the twenty-three chromosomes of each are brought
together into one cell, "that one cell with its forty-six
chromosomes has all the DNA, the whole genetic code, and will, if
not interrupted, make a human being just like you and me with the
potential for God-consciousness" (The Right To Live - The Right
to Die, p.27).
LIFE BEGINS AT CONCEPTION
All biologists know that human life begins at conception.
Walker Percy, an M.D. and a novelist of distinction, notes that
it is a commonplace of modern biology that the life of an
organism begins "when the chromosomes of the sperm fuse with the
chromosomes of the ovum to form a new DNA complex that
thenceforth direct the ontogenesis of the organism" producing the
undeniable "continuum that exists in the life of every individual
from the moment of fertilization of a single cell" (Newsweek,
June 22, 1981, p.92).
THE BIBLE HAS TAUGHT THIS PRECEPT FOR THOUSANDS OF YEARS!
The prophet Jeremiah was told by God: "Before I formed you
in the belly I knew you; and before you came forth out of the
womb I sanctified you, and I ordained you a prophet unto the
nations" (Jeremiah 1:5). The unborn John the Baptist, was called
a child while still in the womb (Luke 1:41). God even knew what
kind of personality John would have and how he would be used to
fulfill God's purpose. This is a lot to know about someone who is
not even "human" yet.
King David of ancient Israel wrote an astounding account of
human life before birth. "For you have possessed my reins: you
have covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise you; for I am
fearfully (awesomely) and wondrously made; marvelous are your
works; and that my soul knows right well. My SUBSTANCE (today we
call it DNA) was not hid from you, when I was made in secret, and
curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth (this is a
poetic expression for womb). Your eyes did see my substance, yet
being unperfect (in the process of developing); and in your book
all my members were written (today we call it genetic code and
development), which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet
there was none of them" (Psalm 139:13-16).
This proves conclusively that the Bible reveals that newly
conceived life is HUMAN LIFE.
A NEW CREATION
"When the sperm and ovum unite, they become a complete genetic
package programmed for development into a mature adult. Nothing
will be added except time and nutrition. Each stage of
development from fertilization to old age is merely a maturing of
what is entirely there at the start" (Children, p.2).
A unique, tiny individual begins life at conception. This is
a life with its own individual personality, a life that will
never again be duplicated in human history, a life that the
Creator God of all who exist has allowed to be generated, a life
that is often terminated by those who have taken to themselves
the prerogative of God, who only has the right to take what He
has given.
IS A FETUS A PERSON?
"The words 'fetus' and 'embryo' are scientific terms which tell
us where a human being is on the spectrum of life. These words
were never meant to imply that the unborn is somehow sub-human,
as some people maintain. Is the adolescent less human than the
adult? Is the infant less human than the adolescent or merely
different in terms of development and dependence? Then is the
fetus less human than the infant or merely different in terms of
development and dependence?" (Who Broke The Baby, p.38).
The answer is that they are no less human than you or I.
Each embryo is made in the image of God, by God's special
creation.
We need to take this one step further. Is the newly
conceived human, at the instant of conception, any less human
than the fetus, than the newborn, than the adolescent, than the
teenager, than the adult, than the elderly - or merely different
in terms of development and dependence? The answer is that at
EVERY STAGE, it is HUMAN LIFE.
"... From the moment of conception to the moment of death, we are
constantly in a state of change - physically, mentally,
emotionally, psychologically, spiritually - either developing or
deteriorating. A HUMAN BEING IS NOT AN OBJECT OR A SUBJECT, BUT
RATHER A GODPLANNED PROJECT WHICH BEGINS AT CONCEPTION" (Ibid, p.
39).
By declaring that "a fetus is not a person," it was legally
placed outside the protection of the law. The fundamental reason
for founding this nation is mocked in a most depraved, hypo-
critical way. The Declaration of Independence and the
Constitution of the United States become meaningless and empty if
abortion continues to be the law of the land.
"We hold these Truths to be Self-evident, that all Men are
Created Equal, that they are Endowed by their Creator with
certain unalienable Rights, that among these are LIFE, Liberty,
and the Pursuit of Happiness" (Declaration of Independence,'
United States of America).
The Constitution clearly states that no state shall deprive
any person of LIFE, liberty, or property, without due process of
law. Yet, we have done exactly that very thing. We have violated
the Constitutional rights of the unborn child. If we uphold the
murder of the unborn, the most helpless and innocent person of
society, we repudiate the fundamental purpose for our nation's
creation.
Worse than this, we have rejected God and His Word! It is
God who raises up nations (Daniel 4:17,25,32).
When the United States of America began, we believed in God.
We knew that. His laws and commandments were the foundation of
all law; but now after we have been blessed as a nation, we turn
our backs on God.
God is the Lifegiver! He is the One who gives life to all
things. In the beginning when Adam was created, God gave him
life. "And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and
breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a
living soul" (Genesis 2:7).
God is the one who gave Adam life. Since God created Adam
and Eve as mature adult beings, and God gave them life and
breath, there are some people who believe that unborn human life
is not full life until a baby has drawn its first breath. This is
only correct in the case of Adam and Eve, not in humanly
conceived life from that time on.
Yes, the fetus is a person and to take its life through
abortion is MURDER.
CHAPTER 3 MILLIONS DIE EACH YEAR
Abortion is a worldwide problem of greater magnitude than
the threat of war! War, with its horrible slaughter of human life
and destruction of property, as evil as it is, does not compare
to the genocide of the unknown generation - the unloved and
unwanted aborted of the twentieth century. More human beings are
being killed each year by abortion than all the combined military
and civilian deaths of World Wars I and II.
For World War I the total number of dead is officially
listed at 8,867,576. The accumulated military and civilian dead
for World War II is listed at 16,095,644 military deaths and
13,252,997 civilian deaths. This makes the carnage of World War
II reach the total of 29,348,641 human deaths. The combined
totals are 38,216,217! (The figures are given by Arthur Enock,
THIS WAR BUSINESS).
These statistics are almost incomprehensible to our minds,
because they fail to convey the spiritual, mental, and emotional
anguish and suffering experienced individually by each person.
But, it gives a basis of comparison which reveals the enormity of
the abortion issue worldwide.
"Data from the World Health Organization and other sources were
used in 1976 to construct a rough estimate that 50 MILLION
abortions are performed EACH YEAR throughout the world - 35
million of them legally" (Abortion Politics, Private Morality and
Public Policy, McGraw-Hill Book Company, p.3).
Think of it! MORE PEOPLE ARE MURDERED EACH YEAR THROUGH
ABORTION THAN ALL THE COMBINED DEATHS OF WORLD WAR I AND WORLD
WAR II.
GENOCIDE
In just ten short years the wanton slaughter of 500,000,000
human beings has been achieved as a monument to human decadence
and depravity. Within less than two years the death toll will top
the ONE BILLION MARK!
Since World War II, the "holocaust" has been held up as an
absolute evil never again to be allowed. The United Nations is
trying to get all nations of the world to sign a "Genocide
Treaty" outlawing such repugnant acts of insanity and cruelty.
On the other hand, the United Nations and the World Health
Organization have been the main instrumentalities in promoting
and establishing legalized abortion around the world! This, in
fact, makes them the greatest perpetrators of genocide in all
recorded history. This is the most unbelievable conflict of
interests ever imagined. The greatest instigators of genocide are
at the same time trying to pass an anti-genocide treaty.
Also, the Jews, who were reputed to be the greatest victims
of the "holocaust" have been some of the strongest advocates for
legalized abortion. Such incredible hypocrisy is hard to
comprehend. Of all peoples of the world, they should be in the
forefront demanding the preservation of human life, and outlawing
abortion, instead of promoting it.
Such behavior by the human race proves the truth of the
Bible: "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately
wicked; who can know it?" (Jeremiah 17:9).
(The correct truth of this verse is that the word "is" is in
italics, and not in the Hebrew - so the correct understanding is
"the heart CAN BE deceitful above all things, and desperately
wicked..." - in the case of abortion practice, the heart has
become deceitful and desperately wicked - Keith Hunt)
ABORTION POLITICS
"Abortion Politics, Private Morality and Public Policy," by
Frederick S. Jaffe, Barbara Lindheim and Philip R. Lee, published
by McGraw-Hill Book Company, is a most revealing book. It
reflects the attitudes toward abortion from social, economic and
political perspectives.
Once it becomes a social-political issue, sweeping aside the
morality of murdering the unborn, abortion is merely a matter of
personal choice, which cannot be denied; and public health, for
which the government is responsible, must pay.
The authors clarify this in the introduction of the book.
We do not think that the different beliefs about abortion will
be reconciled in the foreseeable future. Nor need they be, in a
pluralistic, democratic society like ours, since this form of
government was framed specifically to enable individuals and
groups to live together despite deep-seated differences on
fundamental matters of religion, morality, and conscience. In the
face of these irreconcilable differences, the operative social
question is not whether abortion is right or wrong, but what kind
of public policy is tenable and desirable (politically)"
(Abortion Politics, p.1).
TRUTH REJECTED
It seems so logical to ignore God and to reject the
teachings of the Bible! So it is reasoned, "After all, human
beings have the right to make choices irrespective of religion,
don't they?"
IT MUST BE REMEMBERED THAT THE INHERENT FREEDOM TO MAKE
CHOICES DOES NOT MAKE THOSE CHOICES INHERENTLY RIGHT!
In a society cut off from God and having rejected the
inspired teachings of the Bible, it is not surprising that such
illogical thinking has become the standard for abortion policies.
"In a society that values self-determination and freedom of
choice, finally, public policy should be concerned with the kinds
and amounts of information available to women about their options
in coping with pregnancy. In our view, the 1973 Supreme Court
abortion decisions foreshadow the only sort of public policy that
ultimately is tenable in a democratic society like our own.
Everyone's right to have or to help perform abortions is
protected, as is everyone's right not to participate - if he or
she chooses. Any other decision by the Court necessarily would
have meant that the morality of certain groups and individuals
would have been imposed upon others who conscientiously believe
differently, as indeed it had been for many years" (Ibid., p.2).
These lofty and idealistic words sound right and plausible
and seemingly workable, when God is ignored. But when it is
coupled with the pandemic sexism of a promiscuous society, it is
devastating. IT IS THE FINAL JUSTIFICATION TO RATIONALIZE IMMORAL
CONDUCT AS THE STANDARD NORM, AND MURDER AS THE FINAL SOLUTION.
The truth is, God cannot be ignored! God Almighty is Creator and
He is the one who made us male and female. His laws and
commandments, which are spiritual and always in motion, are
exacting an awful penalty of sin, sickness and death.
CHAPTER 4
ABORTION ... AN EASY ALTERNATIVE?
In this age of convenience, abortion is being presented as a
'quick and easy' way to get rid of an annoying problem. When
women seek advice, most professional abortion counselors just
don't tell them the truth concerning what they are about to do to
their child and to themselves. First of all, abortion is a major
surgical procedure which can result in serious complications. It
is NOT as 'safe' as we are led to believe. Statistics show that
after a legal abortion, a woman faces increased possibilities of
future miscarriages, [tuba] pregnancies, premature births,
sterility, and severe and longlasting emotional disturbances.
Many must face the fact that they will never again be able to
have a child due to infections and complications from a
supposedly safe abortion they have had in the past. Instead of
being told this, their fears are made to seem silly - the whole
procedure whitewashed. 'Why, it's so simple,' they say, 'like
removing an unsightly wart from your body. Now you're pregnant
... now you're not! just rest a day and you'll feel fine.'
ABORTION TECHNIQUES
The following are the most commonly used abortion
techniques.
DILATION AND CURETTAGE (D & C):
The opening of the cervix is dilated with a series of instruments
to allow the insertion of a curette, or sharp scraping
instrument, into the uterus. The fetus is then cut into pieces
and scraped from the uterine wall. Bleeding is usually profuse.
The operating nurse must then reassemble the parts to make sure
the uterus is empty, otherwise infection will set in.
SUCTION CURETTAGE (Vacuum Aspiration):
Using this method, the cervix is dilated as in a D & C, and then
a tube is inserted into the uterus and connected to a strong
suction apparatus. The vacuum is so powerful that the baby is
torn to bits and then sucked into a jar.
SALT POISONING (Saline Injection):
This method is used after 16 weeks (four months) when enough
fluid has accumulated in the sac around the baby. A long needle
is inserted through the mother's abdomen into the baby's sac.
Some fluid is removed and a strong salt solution is injected in.
The helpless baby swallows this poison and suffers severely. He
kicks and jerks violently as he is literally being burned alive
by the solution. It takes over an hour for the baby to die by
this method ... his outer layer of skin is completely burned off.
Within 24 hours labor will usually set in and the mother will
give birth to a dead baby. (Quite frequently these babies are
born alive, but they are usually left unattended to die.)

GOD WILL GIVE YOU DEATH, AS YOU TRY TO OBLITERATE EACH OTHER. AND
FINALLY IN THE BATTLE OF ARMAGEDDON, THE NATIONS THAT COME
AGAINST CHRIST AND HIS HOLY WORD AND LAW, WILL, LIKE SOME
ABORTION PRACTICES, HAVE YOUR SKIN MELTED FROM YOUR BODY IN
DESTRUCTION (Zech.14)
SO IT IS ALL WRITTEN - SO SHALL IT BE - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!
