THE LAST FEW WEEKS
Europe will spend about ONE TRILLION dollars on bailing out
countries like Greece - but printing money for bailouts some say
will have a backlash. Time will tell.
......
New "oil cap" for that BP oil gushing pipe down one mile in the
Gulf of Mexico is about to be know if it will do the trick (stop
the oil doing out into the sea) when the first one did not. So
far the coast of South USA is still not in a terrible disaster,
but that could change any day.
......
Now Chevron oil want to drill 6,000 feet down at the bottom of
the ocean off New Foundland, Canada. The Canadian Government says
it has tougher laws on oil well in Canadian waters, than does the
USA. again time will tell.
......
Big push on in all "hair-salon" shops in the USA - filling nylon
stockings with hair - human, cat, dog - can actually soak up that
oil in the Gulf. Well done the lady who started it all.
......
Britain get new PM (Prime Minister - David Cameron) - an unusual
coalition - just about unheard of in Britain. Time will tell also
have they make out.
......
Canada has the highest per person debt than any other country in
the world - $41,000 for every man, woman, and child.
......
Some house in Quebec, Canada, are literally build on sand or clay
to be more specific. But that clay can turn in mushy sand that
falls away. In the past it has caused land slides with many
houses lost. This last week, while a family (husband, wife, and
two daughters) were down in the basement of their house watching
the TV, the land gave way - the house dropped 90 feet into a mud
slide and all were killed. Houses built on clay - how stupid can
our laws be at times, to allow this!
......
Tornadoes hit again in "tornado alley" of the USA - a few died,
but the destruction was mind-blowing - huge is to say the least -
catastrophic more like it.
......
Many - way too many chemicals are in "perfumes" - some of the big
name brands included. Now the companies say the chemicals are
well known, so no worry. I think that is wishful thinking - some
have as many as 16 chemicals in the perfume. Who in their right
mind wants 16 chemicals in one perfume. And the trouble is those
chemicals don't have to be listed! So time to stopping buying
them is what I say.
......
An old drug called for short DCA has proven to shrink tumors in
mice and now in 4 out of 5 people it was tested on. They say it
could in the future be a "wonder drug." Time will tell on this
one also.
......
Greece and Turkey - one time enemies - are shaking hands and
making deals, whereby each country could be helped in the climate
of finance and business, certainly something that Greece is in
bad need of right now.
......
California has to make drastic cuts in social departments to
fight its nearly 20 Billion deficit - they say it's a "come on
Feds we need help" - either way it shows the desperate situation
the State of California is in. All the muscles in the world from
one time Mr.Universe - Arnold S. (the Governor) ain't flexing to
win this fight. California is in bad bad shape, in the money
game.
......
The Nile River, well it flows through 9 countries - important to
all of them. Now 4 of those countries have come together to make
a deal - Egypt is saying "no way" - with global warming, or
climate change, the Nile will play an important part in the lives
of those 9 countries in the years to come. Could be some pushing
and pulling among them all as their concerns for water multiply.
......
Thailand - the violence between the "red-shirts" and the army is
ongoing. Bangkok looks like a war-zone. About 20 red-shirts have
been killed so far. The red-shirts are the poor of the land and
want new national elections. They can see the rich and those with
the guns .... well they see what they figure they do not want to
see. Will civil war come? I guess if the red-shirts could get the
guns, yes civil war would come. The red-shirts cannot win at the
present time. But somebody providing them with guns - that would
be a different matter.
......
An Australian girl of 16 years of age, has arrived home in her
sailing boat. The first girl to sail the world all alone, with no
help from anyone. 23 thousand miles - she sailed. Jessica Watson
is her name. Well you are quite the girl Jessica - well done. Not
sure if they will make a Hollywood Movie of your feat - kinda be
a one person show, but .... well Tom Hanks did that movie ....
what was it ... "Castaway." Maybe you'll yet get on the movie
list Jessica.
......
To be continued from time to time
