OBAMA LISTENS TO THE WORLD
February 3rd 2009. It seemed that certain legislation from the
USA would trigger a global trade war. "By In The USA" was going
to be more than just a "friendly mind-set" - it was going to
erect trade walls around the USA.
The world spoke up and told the USA that do bring in that kind of
legislation would for sure bring about a world trade war.
Obama today has said he wants no part in a world trade war. He is
wise in this regard. He will use his "authority" to make sure no
such walls are erected in the USA.
It was a concern for Canada, as steel is sold to the USA in the
BILLIONS of dollars a year.
The USW (United Steel Worker) of the USA are disappointed with
Obama's decision. I can understand their disappointment as they
say they are loosing 50,000 jobs a month in layoffs. But, such is
the reality of this global recession, as job losses are in the
tens of thousands for all the major nations of the world. This is
the reality of the present economic nose-dive, and it will they
say probably get worse yet.
GM is still sinking lower and lower, now they say it may be
possible GM will pull out of Canada, and so tens more thousands
of jobs/people will be in the unemployment line.
Obama lost two more "nominees" to tax problems, not paying taxes
that is. One fellow and one gal have hit the dust and gone bust.
An embarrassment for Obama, but he's not to know these people
somehow "slipped-up" and did not pay their taxes correctly. It
makes you wonder who they have as accountants. But what goes on
behind corporation doors is a messing account (pun intended) at
times.
Talking to the two ladies that own the Music School I teach for
... well we agree that we are blessed to still have as many
students as we have, not as many as last year for sure, but we
still have work and a pay-check.
