THE MAN WHOSE MADE A DIFFERENCE!
Paul Newman was a Hollywood film star, and a very good actor in some
box-office hits. He started to make his own salad dressing and as they
say, the rest is history. Now all kinds of products have his face on
them.
But that's only part of the story, the rest of the story as the late
Paul Harvey would say, is that he wanted to help children who needed
help. He decided he wanted to make a difference, so he decided that
every dime of profit from his company would go to charity - to give
to children with mental handicaps.
It was announced today - November 4th 2010 - the Paul Newman company
has now given 300 MILLION, so far, to help and serve children.
He said he wanted to be remembered as a man who made a difference,
and on National News today he was remembered for just that.
It is a fine example to those who are wealthy, to the Hollywood film
stars, to all millionaires, to all Billionaires.
Most of us are not millionaires, most of us are not mega money earners
as film stars, or billionaires from the upper class of white collar workers.
But we can make a difference. We just need to find out what we can do in
our surroundings to help and serve others, the poor, the needy, the
children with problems that make you want to weep over.
So I encourage everyone reading this, that if you have not yet sat down
to see where YOU, even in a small way, CAN make a DIFFERENCE, that you
will do so .... start thinking about it NOW ... then move forward to
put into action the difference YOU can make in your part of the society
you live in. The difference you can make could be from TIME to MONEY,
from volunteering to serve in some charity work, or any good cause
where volunteers are needed, to giving $5 a month or more (if you can)
to a reputable charity to serves others in need.
All of us average people, collectively, CAN MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE for
those who are waiting for us to make a difference in their lives. Oh,
and our heavenly Father will by the way, take notice, and will as He
as written in His word the Bible, reward us according to our works.
"And when James, Cephas, and John (who seemed to be pillars) perceived
the grace that was given unto me, they gave me and Barnabas the right
hand of fellowship ... only they would that we should remember the poor;
the same which I was also forward to do" (Galatians 2:9,10).
"I have showed you all things, how that so laboring you ought to support
the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how He said, 'It is
more blessed to give than to receive'" (Acts 20:35).
