BLUNDER BY NAPOLITANO AND MCCAIN
SWINE FLU HITS
April 25th 2009. Much has been going on in the last week or so.
* Official Memos have been released showing torture tactics of
prisoners thought or proven to be connected with 9/11. Obama says
it was a dark era under the Bush administration - possible
prosecutions may arise.
* Violence erupts in central Kenya - 24 plus killed.
* 60 die in suicide bomb in Iraq.
* Sir Lanka Government army and rebel Tigers 27 year war nearly
over. But 100,000 innocent people had to flee and 10s of
thousands caught inbetween. Red Cross says it is a catastrophic
situation.
* Iran President calls Israel "a racist country" - at UN "racists
conference" - Western delegates walk out.
* South Africa goes to the vote. Millions of housing units have
been built by the present Government but apparently still not
enough. It must be remembered that millions came into South
Africa even when under the "whiteman" power, because it was the
best place to live in that part of South Africa.
* IMF banks still have a way to go to rise back to where they
were before the recession. One "ex" IMF guy says 1929 is still
here and a "contraction." USA banks still have a climb ahead of
them. Britain is borrowing 200 Billion - the highest borrowing
since Second World War.
* Yet TESCO - Britain's largest retail shopping store (in 14
other countries also) made a profit of 3 Billion pounds. Even in
this recession, it knows have to perform wise business.
* Oil and Stocks are up and down, down and up.
* Cash for old cars (to then buy news ones) has been very
successful in Germany, so other nations may try it.
* Obama invites Israel, Palestinians, and Egypt, to peace talks.
* Bank of Canada gives 0.25 interest rate, which translates into
0 interest rate in practicality. Canada now realizes the
recession will be quite a long one.
* Chrysler car company may soon declare bankruptcy. GM is getting
billions more, while Ford is holding on and asking for no bail-
out money.
* Russia - 1/2 million out of work each passing month. 2 million
lost jobs in last three months. Soup kitchen lines get longer and
longer. Economy expected to shrink by 6 per cent this year of
2009.
* Spain now has 4 million people out of work.
* Napolitano girl and McCain boy make BIG blunder by saying 9/11
hi-jackers came into USA via Canada. Simply not true, and the
Canadian Government has protested to say they need to get their
facts correct.
* Canadian border is shutting down some offices, laying off some
border personnel and cutting overtime work - it's the recession,
cuts here and there, in this and that, have to be made.
* Canadian DRAMA films and TV series making big inroads into USA
market. Canadian talent is up there with the best of them, and
can produce things for less money than the USA.
* Staying with Canada - people are going on a binge for gardening
- growing there own organic vegies - due to the recession - well
it makes sense.
* Dubai - well the sheiks with the money can still continue
building modern space age high-rise building, and certain parts
of the Arab world is continuing to look like a small version of
New York city.
* SWINE FLU
Perhaps the BIG news in the last day or so, is the outbreak of
Swine flu in Mexico, with it showing up in Texas and California.
Here in Canada we have 190,000 people travelling back and forth
to Mexico on holiday each year.
The Medical world is saying that a PANdemic of flu is only a
matter of time. They watch carefully to see if this could be the
one. At present the world would have no defence against it. The
Pandemic of 1918 killed 40 Million people.
