AS THE WORLD TURNS OF LATE
Nearly the end of
September 2009
Lots of things have been happening in the last month or so.
The drug addicts in Afghanistan is a million and increasing. The
main ones hit are women and children. They say the situation
could wipe out an entire generation.
......
24 Banks failed last year in the USA. This year so far it is 90
and counting.
......
USA "top gun" - McChrystal says send more troops or face failure
in Afghanistan. Most USA people the researchers says, are sick of
the war the USA are in over there. I've been saying for years
now, that it is not possible to win against fanatics and a "hit
and run" type war.
......
The stats are in on Alzheimer's disease, and it is not good news.
More and more people are coming down with this heart-breaking
disease. They are saying it looks like it will mushroom before
any remedy or golden pill is found to stop it.
......
They've been meeting again, the nations that is, concerning
global warming. The stats are in on the arctic circle and
Greenland (whoever gave that country that name; must have been in
jest) and the ice and snow is melting way faster than predicted.
......
Iran's leader says if they ever get the "A" bomb he would like to
blow Israel of the face of the earth. He denies the all those
Jews were killed in the 2nd World War. Canadian diplomats were
told to walk out of the UN when this fellow got up to speak, and
they did just that. Good on them!
......
Georgia (USA) floods from rain, has been as bad. One photo showed
only the roof of a school above the water. Cars and people swept
away like little toys in a wall of water.
......
Canadian retail figures are down, after a media etc. proclamation
of a slight, very slight rise, a month ago. The bottom line
for all countries is indeed, people are still out of work, and
still not willing to spend as before. The recession is not over
till people have jobs and pocket money.
......
Canadian, UK, Spain, Australia, ladies (maybe so in the USA also)
over 30 show a boom in childbirths. As one lady said, it's the
time machine ticking on, and kicking in.
......
The rings of Saturn are seen as never before, with the new Hubble
repairs. Now they can see that some of the rings have dips and
high spots in them as large in height as the Canadian Rockies
(that's anywhere from 12 to 16 thousand feet).
......
The G20 are meeting again, in Pittsburgh this time. Probably not
much will come from their meeting, that they have not already
talked about, in trying to get the world economy firedup again.
......
The are saying the recent AIDS vaccine is the best so far, but
they also state in the same breath that they are still years away
from a 100% vaccine. So the gay and lesbian community are not yet
free to live their life-style without fear.
......
Despite the money raised by film star Michael J. Fox for
Parkinson disease, the main charity fund raising group says they
are still a long way from the answers to the Parkinson disease.
......
Well folks with all this news, most not very pleasant, you may
like to take time out to buy and watch some Fred Astaire
music/dance films. I saw a number of them as a kid growing up,
and was amazed at the dancing. Fred also had a very nice smooth,
pleasant tone, to his singing voice. I've recently bought some of
his movies from Amazon.com I'm still just as amazed at his
dancing, and the talent of his leading ladies like Ginger Rogers
and the pretty and very talented Jane Powell (acting, singing,
dancing). When they tap dance as a team, both doing the same
thing in unison, it is magic. It's also magic when Fred dances
with broom sticks, a one pole coat hanging rack, and the trick
photography as he dances on walls and the ceiling is so smooth,
you would think it was reality.
Yep, do yourself a favor and buy some Fred Astaire movies, such
talent is hard to find today; maybe it's out there but Hollywood
ain't interested, maybe most of the public ain't interested, but
you do not have to be the majority public, in fact I sure hope
you are not.
