We as Christians are admonished by Jesus and the New Testament to
NOT be a part of the world, though living in the world. Yet we
are given the books of Proverbs and Ecclesiastes to help us have
wisdom while being in the world. There is no righteous virtue in
being a "dumb" or "brainless blockhead" of a Christian. Paul
admonished us to "prove all things and hold fast to that which is
good." There is no righteous virtue in being an "uneducated"
Christian." We are admonished to study to show ourselves approved
to God, a workman that needs not be ashamed. While Paul was no
doubt thinking about studying the Scriptures when giving this
edifying instruction, we should also be willing to study the
myths, lies, and stupidity, that is all around us in the world.
Jesus prayed to the Father that His children would not be taken
out of the world but that they would be kept from evil (John
17:15) and that they would be sanctified by the truth (verse 17).
The truth of the matter is that in the world, as in many
"religious" organizations, there is much MYTHS, LIES, and
DOWNRIGHT STUPIDITY.
John Stossel may not ALWAYS be 100% correct in what he tries to
reveal for us the many Myths, Lies, and Stupidity out there in
the world, but from what I have read of his research and his
facts in trying to bring us the myths, lies, and stupidity out
there, I wound say he is well up into the 90s in accuracy.
A Christian needs to work, live, and navigate, around the world
while in the flesh in the world. We as children of the heavenly
Father, need wisdom, we are admonished to get wisdom, to be wise,
circumspect, to grow in grace and knowledge. I believe part of
growing in grace and knowledge is to learn about all the MYTHS,
LIES, and STUPIDITY, that is in BOTH the SECULAR and RELIGIOUS
world.
YES, if you want to be wise in the secular world, or if you just
simply want to know about the many MYTHS, LIES, and indeed the
DOWNRIGHT STUPIDITY, that is covered up, or presented to us as if
it was gospel truth, then you would do well to read John
Stossel's book: MYTHS, LIES, AND DOWNRIGHT STUPIDITY. Published

Most large Books Stores will have it or can obtain it for you, as
I write this in 2007. Way down the road, hopefully most Public
Libraries will stock it. Hopefully also, in years to come most of
the revealed myths, lies, and stupidity, will have been corrected
by the world, but I will not hold my breath as they say. It would
seem too many in positions of power and authority (in many
various aspects of society) like to continue their myths, lies,
and downright stupidity.
Not everything Stossel says is correct - most is - but sometimes
he gets it wrong also. On his comments on "global warmimg" he
needs a shovel to dig himself out of the hole he puts himself in,
as do the scientists who have "poo-pood" (up to 2007) the truth of
