Joe Biden suffered a serious blow at the annual meeting of the World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland, last week. All 13 of his proposed amendments designed to cede sovereignty to WHO were\u00a0rejected<\/i>\u00a0by objecting member nations.<\/p>\n

In 2005, former President George W. Bush signed America up to obey WHO\u2019s International Health Regulations (IHR). These are a slate of international agreements that are enforceable on WHO member nations. Members that violate these international agreements can be brought before the World Court in The Hague, Netherlands.<\/p>\n

On January 18, 2022, Joe Biden quietly submitted 13 amendments to the IHR designed to cede American sovereignty to the WHO<\/u>.<\/p>\n

Biden\u2019s amendments sought to give the WHO Director-General sweeping power to declare a \u201cpublic health emergency\u201d over any issue he chooses, without consulting the member nations. If Biden\u2019s amendments are adopted, WHO\u2019s Director-General would have the power to control the commerce, trade and travel of the 194 member nations.<\/p>\n

For instance, WHO\u2019s Director-General would have the power to effectively close or open borders. If the \u201coffending\u201d country refuses to agree or comply with such a directive, the Director-General can compel other nations to stop trade and travel to and from the offending country. Shipments of food, medicine and consumer goods would be affected.<\/p>\n

Joe Biden wanted to use the unelected, unaccountable United Nations\u2019 WHO to enforce a globalist agenda on the United States without pesky American legislators or courts to get in his way<\/u>.

Because, in part, of the alarm Liberty Counsel raised, many WHO member nations also realized Biden\u2019s proposed amendments are a threat to their own sovereignty. Biden was soundly defeated \u2026 this time.<\/p>\n

But here\u2019s the bad news \u2026<\/b><\/p>\n

The Biden administration made clear it would \u201ccontinue discussions\u201d on the amendments after the World Health Assembly ended May 28.\u00a0A new Working Group on IHR (WGIHR) will now push for new amendments<\/u>.<\/p>\n

There are now two tracks moving forward at the same time\u2014one involves new IHR amendments and the other a new \u201cPandemic Treaty.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n

Concerning proposed IHR Amendments:<\/b><\/p>\n

September 30, 2022<\/u>\u00a0\u2014 Deadline for proposed amendments to IHR.<\/p>\n

October 1, 2022<\/u>\u00a0\u2014 Director-General to convene IHR Review Committee to make technical recommendations on the proposed IHR amendments.<\/p>\n

November 15, 2022<\/u>\u00a0\u2014 WGIHR meets to consider IHR amendments.<\/p>\n

January 15, 2023<\/u>\u00a0\u2014 IHR Review Committee reports to Director-General.<\/p>\n

May 2023<\/u>\u00a0\u2014 Present proposed IHR amendments at the 76th annual World Health Assembly meeting.<\/p>\n

Concerning a proposed new Pandemic Treaty:<\/b><\/p>\n

June 16-17, 2022<\/u>\u00a0\u2014 Request to speak or submit a written statement regarding the new Pandemic Treaty.<\/p>\n

August 1, 2022<\/u>\u00a0\u2014 Working draft of new Pandemic Treaty is submitted.<\/p>\n

When Liberty Counsel began writing about Biden\u2019s scheme involving WHO, the members of Congress were not aware of the amendments or Biden\u2019s role in advancing them.<\/b><\/p>\n
