<\/h1>\n<\/h1>\nAs we come to the Seventh Day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread\u2014a High Holy Day<\/strong>, it is fitting that we pause in thanksgiving and reflection on the fullness of what has been accomplished in Christ, and what continues in Him.<\/p>\n This is not merely a remembrance of something past, but a participation in something present and ongoing.<\/p>\n There is a deep and continuous thread of fulfillment in how we \u201cdo this in remembrance\u201d<\/em>\u2014not as a replacement of the offerings, but as participation in their fulfillment.<\/p>\n As it is written: This points beyond the earthly altar to its heavenly reality.<\/p>\n Christ, as our High Priest\u2014 \ud83d\udc49 The altar on earth was given as a pattern; the heavenly is the substance.<\/p>\n And so, when we come to the Lord\u2019s Table<\/strong>, we are not instituting something new\u2014we are entering into His perfect and ongoing offering.<\/p>\n Hebrews 9:12<\/a><\/em> \u2014 \u201cBy His own blood He entered in once\u2026\u201d \ud83d\udc49 The pattern is clear: offering \u2192 entering \u2192 completion. Acts 2:27<\/a><\/em> \u2014 \u201cThou wilt not suffer Thine Holy One to see corruption\u201d<\/p>\n \ud83d\udc49 Death did not defile Him\u2014He conquered it.<\/p>\n Luke 24:1<\/a><\/em> \u2014 \u201cOn the first day of the week\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n \ud83d\udc49 Rising immediately following the Sabbath within the feast pattern\u2014 Luke 24:30\u201331<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n On that very day:<\/p>\n \ud83d\udc49 Even in His risen presence, He is made known in this act.<\/p>\n Acts 2:42<\/a><\/em> \u2014 \u201cThey continued steadfastly in the apostles\u2019 doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread\u2026\u201d \ud83d\udc49 This is not merely a household observance, but something done when the assembly is gathered<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Christ did not limit this to a single yearly moment.<\/p>\n \ud83d\udc49 Each time we partake, we proclaim His sacrifice and participate in its fulfillment.<\/p>\n The Feast of Unleavened Bread is not one day, but seven\u2014 \ud83d\udc49 This final day completes the pattern:<\/p>\n And even now, we are called to keep the feast<\/strong>:<\/p>\n \u201cChrist our Passover is sacrificed for us: therefore let us keep the feast\u201d<\/em> (1 Corinthians 5:7\u20138<\/a>)<\/p>\n \ud83d\udc49 Not merely in symbol\u2014but in truth, in sincerity, and in Christ.<\/p>\n This pattern was not lost after the apostles\u2014it was preserved.<\/p>\n Men such as Polycarp of Smyrna<\/span><\/span> en Polycrates of Ephesus<\/span><\/span> testified strongly to the continued observance of the full Paschal cycle, including the Feast of Unleavened Bread.<\/p>\n Polycrates, in particular, defended this tradition as having been received from:<\/p>\n
