Yes after the Marxists (following after the French Revolution) picked up steam with Marx in 1848, they burned down countless sovereign governments across Germany, and then they came to America. So yes, this photo is correctly depicting some of the new arrivals recruited by Lincoln to ruthlessly attack the South.The South fighting Communists since 1861...The Confederacy has stood as a bulwark against communism and radical leftist revolutionaries since 1861, defending traditional American values of states' rights, limited government, and agrarian self-reliance against the Union's influx of foreign-born agitators who sought to impose their destructive ideologies. Many of these were German "Forty-Eighters"—failed revolutionaries from the 1848 uprisings in Europe, including avowed communists like August Willich (a Prussian noble turned Marxist firebrand who became a Union general) and Franz Sigel (who led radical militias before commanding Union forces)—who fled to America, gained leadership roles in Lincoln's army, and brought their socialist zeal to bear on southern Americans. These immigrants, numbering around 200,000 in Union ranks, often went on to terrorize multigenerational Southern families through looting, plundering, and destruction, mirroring the chaos they fled in Europe.Even Russian-born officers like John Basil Turchin (Ivan Turchaninov, a former Imperial Russian colonel) infamous for the "Rape of Athens" in Alabama, where his brigade pillaged stores, homes, and churches while assaulting civilians—exemplified this foreign menace, raising questions about why Lincoln relied on such immigrant radicals to wage war on native-born Americans defending their homes.In essence, the South's fight was not just for independence but against an early wave of global leftist subversion that foreshadowed today’s threats. ...
