Dearborn Michigan has joined many other cities across Texas, Minnesota, and much of Europe. City officials enforce the Muslim call to prayer, the adhan, to be broadcast from mosques at all hours of the day. They require this amplified call to be broadcasted for all to hear, five times daily. It is to be heard from dawn (as early as 3:30 a.m.) to dusk (as late as 11 p.m.).They say this promotes religious freedom and inclusion for the city's large Muslim community. It took a lot of domination to overturn the state and local regulations.Ordinarily such public alarm megaphone systems could only be used exclusively for Emergencies, such as warning of tsunamis, air raids, and tornados.Such systems have been approved for the 'New Western' Mosques to set up on Towers so people can hear Islamic Daily announcements from miles away.
