Is Milk good for you?

IS MILK REALLY GOOD FOR US?
By Rich Coupland
From "Thy Kingdom Come" - June 2010 - a publication of the
Association of the Covenant People, Burnaby, B.C. Canada.
We have been taught since early school days that milk builds
strong bones. TV commercials of our favourite movie and sports
stars only emphasize this fact even further with their white
moustached mug shots.
Some of our favourite foods come from dairy .... cheese, ice
cream and of course that good wholesome cal?cium?rich glass of
milk. But, is milk really as good for us as advertised, or are we
being deceived.
There is no arguing the fact that mother's breast milk is so
important in the development of babies. It is the most complete
form of nutrients for a child's health. But why is it when we
wean our young from breast milk, that we then begin raising them
on animal's milk. This is the very same milk that calves are
weaned from. There is a big difference between human babies and
baby calves, and correspondingly a big difference between the
milk that is intended to nourish human babies and baby calves.
Human infants take about 180 days to double their birth weight,
and that human milk is 5 to 7 percent protein. Calves require
only 45 days to double their birth weight and cow's milk is 15
percent protein. Is this milk really necessary in our diets?
According to Dr. Spock, who sold more than 75 million copies of
his book on child care, no human, no child, no adult needs cow's
milk ?? it's a deception on the government's part to promote it.
"When we have babies, we breastfeed them, and then at a certain
point, we stop", explain authors Rory Freedman and Kim Barnouin.
It is exactly the same for cows and every other mammal on the
planet. They produce milk when they give birth, they feed their
young, and then they stop. We are the only species on the planet
that drinks the milk of another species. Why? Because the multi?
million dollar dairy industry has convinced us that we need milk
for healthy bones. However, researchers have found that countries
with the highest dairy intake also suffer the highest
osteoporosis rates.
Robert Cohen, author of "Milk, the Deadly Poison," states:
"Let's look at the Big Five in America. The number one killer is
heart disease, and then we've got osteoporosis and cancer, and
diabetes and asthma. We look at nations where they drink milk; we
find these diseases are common. We look at nations where cheese
consumption has tripled in the last 30 years, like England and
France and Canada and the United States, we find also a tripling
of asthma and breast cancers".
And yet most Canadians and Americans think if you have
fragile bones or the symptoms of osteoporosis, you have to drink
more milk!
Professor Gary Null writes in his "Complete Encyclo?
paedia of Natural Healing," ? "In all respiratory conditions,
mucousforming dairy foods, such as milk and cheese, can
exacerbate clogging of the lungs and should be avoided". Very
simply, when more mucus accumulates in the lungs than can be
expelled, asthma attacks develop. Many doctors and researchers
are now beginning to feel that allergies may be the underlying
problem behind the link between milk and asthma.
We are told that milk is pasteurized in order to remove
unhealthy bacteria. In actual fact, milk pasteurization destroys
digestive enzymes and even doubles the amount of harmful
bacteria. Without these enzymes, milk is especially difficult to
process in our bodies, especially since the human pancreas cannot
always create these enzymes on its own. When the pancreas is
overtaxed diabetes and other diseases may occur.
90% of the protein in milk is casein. Studies showed that
casein increases cancer 100% of the time when introduced at any
stage of cancer development. When casein is extracted from milk,
it is used as glue. Do you ever wonder why there is a picture of
a cow on Elmer's glue? Now you know why milk is such a mucous?
forming drink. It is said that all dairy products are the most
mucous forming foods known to man.
When referring to the Bible, there is never any mention to
man drinking cow's milk. There is one quote in Proverbs 27:27
however of goat's milk. Here is the verse from the Ferrar Fenton
translation: "And rich milk from the goats to feed you ? To feed
your house, and nourish your girls."
It is true that goat's milk is closest to human milk. Goat
milk not only contains 20% less cholesterol than cow's milk, but
is also easily digestible and can be consumed even by those with
lactose intolerance. It contains all the known and essential
amino acids which have unique benefits in many diseases of
humans. It is also a known gentle cleanser and skin moisturizer.
One last little statistic: Every day the average Canadian and
American is consuming from all dairy products the equivalent
cholesterol levels that are contained in nearly 50 slices of
bacon!
If you suffer from any sinus related conditions, you owe it
to yourself to try going without dairy products for 30 days. I'm
sure you will see the results for yourself!
                            ..................
Rick Coupland writes for www.associationcovenantpeople.org
..........
Now that all sounds pretty convincing, right? Well it is really
very misleading in many ways. First, of course if your body has
reactions to milk, it is like anything else anyone has reaction
to, you need to STOP EATING WHAT YOUR BODY IN A BAD WAY REACTS
TO! That should be just common sense. Secondly, in this world
some of the findings that are bad about eating dairy produces, is
in the main, for two reasons - one, way too MUCH is eaten, the
other, most store bought dairy products are shot with .... you
name it, from into the cows to into the milk to preserve shelf
life. It is modern living, modern un-balanced living, that is
mostly to blame.
The writer tries to use the Bible to say it does not mention
cow's milk drinking. Well this is bad theology to try to prove
your case. The Bible does not mention eating pure blackstrap
molasses! And it has all kinds of good stuff in it. The Bible
does not mention eating carrots either (can't find the word used
in the KJV from Strong's Concordance). The Bible does not mention
eating Pineapples or Mangos or Spinach. The Bible does not
mention drinking blackcurrent juice, or coconut milk. Silence it
not always a proof that something not mentioned in the Bible
should then, not be drunk.
There are two types of cholesterol - good and bad - and yes too
much even of something good can end up giving you bad effects.
Hence where cheese consumption has tripled in some countries,
then probably the un-balance is giving bad results.
We drink milk while other creatures do not after being weaned, is
also a false red flag. God made other creatures different than
us, and in many different ways among themselves even. The horse
can eat grass all day and produce strength and muscles, with some
exercise as we and other creatures surely would not, they and us
would starve to death. So such "taking the cue" from 'creatures'
is also a false theory. Logic says you can not apply that
argument to human kind.
Sure some people are prone to "mucous-forming conditions with
respiratory conditions" do happen, with SOME people; that is just
the way they are, for whatever reason. The rest of us have no
problem with mucous-forming conditions. Obviously those that do
should use common logic - keep away from anything that causes YOU
to "mucous-forming conditions."
Yes, sure, pasteurized milk is not "natural milk" - the laws of
the land have taken the "shot-gun approach" to the safety, for the
masses.
Pure, healthy cows, as in grandfather's day, shot with no this
and that shots and not given feed that cows were never means to eat,
will produce good healthy milk.
That kind of cow's milk has MANY fine and good healthy qualities,
that in balance are good for you. There is MUCH MORE to cancer
than some "casein" in milk. A BALANCED EATING AND DRINKING will
eliminate the individual and un-balanced of it all.
It is true that goat's milk is closest to human milk and those
people who cannot tolerate cow's milk usually can drink goat's
milk. It's the way that person is put together, that's all; it
does not mean or prove cow's milk is dangerous and bad for every
single person, while goats milk is the only milk we should drink.
I was a kid that grew up on "sweets" - I was a "sweeterholic"
you might say, from candy to cake to cookies to fruit pies (because
they were sweet - sugar in them). I drank no milk. At the age of 12
was suffering terrible tooth decay and needed major dental work.
I was able to buy the old "Charles Atlas Health and Strength Course." He
stressed a balanced diet, less sweets than I sure had been
having, but he stressed good whole milk - a pint a day, and back
in my early teens you could get whole milk, cream rising to the
top; you had to shake it up before drinking. I started to drink
that kind of milk - a pint a day - all through my teen years -
WHAT A DIFFERENCE IT MADE TO MY TEETH!! STRONG AND CLEAN AND
TROUBLE FREE!!
GOOD PURE RAW COWS MILK, FROM HEALTHY ORGANIC COWS - ONE OF THE
BEST FOODS YOU CAN HAVE. IT WAS PART OF CHARLES ATLAS DIET AND AT
66 YEARS OLD HE COULD STILL BEND IN TWO 6" IRON NAILS.
THE TRUTH OF THE MATTER ABOUT MILK YOU WILL FIND FROM ONE OF THE
GREATEST HEALTH EXPERTS IN THE LAST 100 YEARS. YOU'LL FIND IT
