AN INTERESTING WEEK
REMEMBERING "D" DAY and CHINA'S STUDENT REVOLT
June 6th 2009. a week of much news. GM files for bankruptcy - the
largest company ever in the USA, to go to bankruptcy. 60 per cent
will be owned by the USA, 12 per cent by Canada and Ontario. 11
or 12 of their plants will close - 20,000 jobs will disappear. If
GM survives it will be smaller and not anywhere or anything like
it once was, the greatest car manufacturing company of North
America.

An Airline France - flight 447 from Brazil to Paris, goes down in
the Atlantic - all 228 passengers and crew are lost - a terrible
tragedy.

Obama visits the Arab world. He gives a speech in Cairo, Egypt.
Much of the Arab world is run by dictatorships, and has a much
different outlook on life than does the USA. Obama wants to build
bridges between the West and the Arabs. With the USA getting more
secular and less "Christian" maybe Obama's administration can
build some kind of "peace bridge" between the Arab world and the
West led by the USA and Britain. Time will tell.
It is prophesied that the Beast power of Europe will one day be
"pushed at" by the Arab world led by Egypt, and Europe will push
back with destruction on the Egypt, and then enter the holy land
to bring destruction on the Jews and Jerusalem (Dan.11:40-45). As
one BBC reporter said this last week, "Egypt sees itself as the
center of the Arab world." Then will come the time of trouble,
the great tribulation, that has never been before and never will
be again. Then will come the last 42 months of this age and the
return of Christ to bring in the age to come, the Kingdom of God
on earth, as foretold in all the prophets of the Bible.

The coast of California is eroding away. Some 60 per cent is
under attack by the rising sea levels in the wake of global
warming. 3 to 4 feet or more is what is expected in sea rising
levels in the next decades. The San Francisco Bay, office
buildings and poor housing districts will go under water. Much of
the building on the Bay was built on stuff that clogged the bay
and made it smaller. Now the sea will reclaim it unless the USA
builds massive long dykes as in Holland. Then there is the
prospect of that MASSIVE earthquake they say is only a matter of
time to come on the West coast, with the fault line running down
from Alaska and all the way to below Los Angels.

This week was the 20 year date of the student up-rising in China,
that was crushed by the army and its tanks and fire-power. It has
never been known how many were killed by the army, but some say
it could have been thousands. Such protests by the young have
gone underground, the Internet and the like. China Government
says, "Stay out of politics and we'll give you the good material
things of life." And they were delivering on that promise until
the world's financial collapse.

June 6th is the anniversary of the Second World War "D" day. The
huge invasion from the sea by the allies on the German hold of
France and Europe. I have to think surely there was another way
to liberate Europe under the Nazi strangle hold. The cost in
lives lost by the allies was staggering, over 9,000 killed from
the USA alone. They say just as many Germans killed. Both sides
lost an unbelievable number of young men, many just 18,19 and 20
years old.
The devastation of war is horrible and cruel. How we should
desire the Kingdom of God on earth, when nations will learn war
no more, when there will be peace on earth.
