Is there a Biblical example where God actually punished people for distorting the time frame a prophecy of imminent judgment was to be understood? Question #3 Should we take the statements made in John's Revelation literally when they state that it is concerning events that were "shortly to come to pass" and "at hand"? Are we to believe Christ when He states that He was "coming quickly" to the audience he was speaking to in the 1st century? Question #4 Was the "second advent" idea the original understanding of the apostolic church, or was it an invention of the mid- second century fathers? Why was the plural word "advents" not found in Christian literature for more than a century after the ascension of Christ? Where does Jesus ever distinguish between a "coming in judgment" verse a "second and final coming?" Question #5 DATE OF REVELATION, PART 1 -- The Authorship date of the Revelation by the Apostle John: 70 A.D. or 96 A.D.? Question #6 DATE OF REVELATION, PART 2 -- What specific internal evidence within the Revelation establishes it's date of authorship? What is our sole source by which we can trust to be the final authority of God's revealed will? Question #9 What about the Year-Day theory? Are days always to be understood as years in prophetic interpretation? Does this theory have scriptural analogy and support? Does this theory find support in Num. 14 and Ezek. 4? Does the year-day theory have support in Daniel's prophecy of the 'seventy weeks' (Dan. 9:24-27)? Question #10 Do you think Jesus and the Apostles erred in believing that THEIR world (in the 1st century) was coming to an end? Did they speak the truth when they stated that they were living in the last days back then?
