A great book on the early Celtic Church—which we are working to republish—is featured below. In it, many questions are answered, such as why around 120 bishops convened under Archbishop St. David during various synods. Yet, some other questions become even greater curiosities, further explored in our broader writings and historical compilations here at St. Andrew’s OCC. We consistently cite the most eminent scholars, and much of this cutting-edge research is first circulated through our newsletters. Many of these findings are also being prepared for inclusion in new books of our own, continuing the work previously published by Rev. Dr. Stephen MK Brunswick, Primate of St. Andrew’s OCC.

For example, the book includes exhaustive demonstrations of how the church was led by clan chieftains, and how remnants of this leadership structure have persisted—at least within the Orthodox tradition.

We have written a number of articles on the tribal structure of the Celtic Church, including its successions and genealogies, extending even to recent times. These maintain continuity with the Welsh Pedigrees of Saints and include significant efforts to trace the kinship of Celtic abbots to the Israelite Royal House of O’Neill.
