Bad news for those who were told an exaggerated and politicized version of Judge McConnel's order to fund SNAP by Friday.That judge's order got paused just this Friday evening by Judge Kaneesha Brown Jackson.We know how upsetting this is — nobody wants to see families struggle for food.Just to clarify what just happened Friday evening:The Supreme Court Paused Judge McConnell’s order Friday evening because the USDA was the only party he ordered, and the Section 32 tariff (Emergency reserve) funds he pointed to are already committed to emergency school meal programs, so those Dollars don’t actually exist for SNAP.Meanwhile, Republicans have voted at least 14 times to fully fund and reopen the government, but Democrats have voted each time to keep it shut down.It’s sad that Politics is getting this polarized — people just need to eat, not pick sides.If anyone you know relies on SNAP, Missouri and other states still have limited benefits, and local churches or food pantries can help right away.
