The Bible is one long story; the Old Testament and the New Testament are the beginning and the end of God's work with man. You can no more remove the Old Testament from the New Testament than you can remove your own childhood from your adult self. One began the other, and the later can not exist without the former.
Many people wrongly think that the New Testament replaced the Old Testament, that it voided it out. It did not, the New Testament fulfilled the Old Testament, Jesus Christ did not replace the Old Testament law, He fulfilled it (see Jesus Christ foretold of in Old Testament Scripture). The only thing Christ replaced was the blood rituals (animal sacrifice for forgiveness of sin), and He replaced that with His blood on the cross; for Jesus Christ was that perfect sacrificial Lamb, without spot or blemish, that was able to forgive all repented sins (see Forgivness) with the one time offering of Himself to die in our stead. Praise be to God for that!
In the below Scripture, the law and the prophets means the Old Testament (Pentateuch - Genesis through Deuteronomy, and the Prophets - Daniel, Ezekiel, Malachi...).
Matt 5:17 (Jesus speaking)
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. (KJV)
The book of Revelation is the completion of the events began in the book of Genesis. In fact, the first prophesy in the Bible is found in [Gen 3:15], this is fulfilled in the New Testament by Christ.
Gen 3:14-15 (The first Biblical prophecy)
14 And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:
15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. (KJV)Heb 2:14 (speaking of the crucifixion)
14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil (KJV)
Rev 20:10 (Satan's future yet ultimate destruction)
10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. (KJV)Heb 10:12-13 (speaking of Jesus bruising His heel by bruising the serpents head. Fulfillment of [Gen 3:15])
12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. (KJV)
While the Bible is written by many Scribes (the Prophets and Apostles), it is authored by one entity, and that entity is the Holy Spirit of God. Below is an excerpt from The Companion Bible that illustrates the beautiful Relationship between the first book of our Bible (Genesis) and the last (Revelation) that illustrates that God is in fact in control and that He did foretell us all things through His written Word, the Bible. God would not that we be in the dark as to His plan and His will for mankind. We are supposed to understand the Bible, all of it, or else why would He have given it to us. And it is through the Bible, the written Word of God, that we can find true peace and understand how it is that our Lord God wants us to live. Having that confidence in the will of our Heavenly Father brings ease and comfort to our lives.
Mark 13:23 (Jesus speaking)
23 But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things. (KJV)

hosts several archives of Bible studies such as these by the Watchmen Bible Study Group. Although we are not affiliated with this or numerous others using the term Watchman in their names, we believe it important keep the full content intact for research and analysis for Bible students of future generations. We keep it available as good members of the body of Christ, for Christian unity. We do so on a non-profit basis. As the original owner's site went offline years ago, no one has paid to keep it online but us. We pray and hope such ministries are more careful about having successors to carry on their works in the future. Although we do not agree on every point of doctrine, we still believe it very important to not edit any of the original contents.
Our own statements of beliefs are found at www.CelticOrthodoxy.com,
and for example in the book "7th Day Sabbath in the Orthodox Church" etc.
