Jonah study #1 [1:1 - 1:17] In this first chapter we see God's calling Jonah to service. We also see that Jonah was a 'type' of Jesus Christ who was to come. We discover that there is so much more to the story of Jonah in the "whales" belly than we have been taught.

Jonah study #2 [2:1 - 2:10] Here, Jonah having been cast into the sea, and swallowed up by the great fish, we see Jonah both die and resurrect, once again fulfilling a 'type' of Christ. In this chapter we learn from Jonah's plight many things that we can apply to our lives today.

Jonah study #3 [3:1 - 3:10] After Jonah's ordeal, he obeys God and delivers the message to Nineveh. We see Nineveh's reaction, and through it, we see how God expects us to repent in our daily lives.

Jonah study #4 [4:1 - 4:11] (End of book) In this final chapter, we see Jonah's reaction to God's mercy upon Nineveh. It certainly isn't what it should be. God teaches Jonah a lesson that we can all learn from.

Watchman News hosts several archives of Bible studies such as these by the Watchmen Bible Study Group. Although we are not affiliated with this or numerous others using the term Watchman in their names, we believe it important keep the full content intact for research and analysis for Bible students of future generations. We keep it available as good members of the body of Christ, for Christian unity. We do so on a non-profit basis. As the original owner's site went offline years ago, no one has paid to keep it online but us. We pray and hope such ministries are more careful about having successors to carry on their works in the future. Although we do not agree on every point of doctrine, we still believe it very important to not edit any of the original contents. Our own statements of beliefs are found at www.CelticOrthodoxy.com, and for example in the book "7th Day Sabbath in the Orthodox Church" etc.
