THE BOOK OF MALACHI

Malachi Study #1 [1:1-1:14] In the first few verses in this first chapter we see prophecy regarding Russia and America mentioned. We then go on in verse six to read of God's anger with the preachers/teachers/priests that deal falsely with His Word. In fact, these first two chapters of the book of Malachi are for the most part written to the priesthood (clergy) who have angered God by what they teach and how they mislead the people.

A Preface To The Book Of Malachi
The name Malachi translated from the Hebrew language means: "My messenger." Some Scholars beleive that the Malachi was shortened from Malachiah, which means messenger of God. And Malachi indeed was the messenger of the Lord. This book was the latest written book of the Old Testament. It was written in 374 BC, 400 years before the Anointing of the Messiah Jesus Christ and the commencement of His Ministry (AD 26). Thirty-three years before this book of Malachi was written, The Temple-worship and it's sacrifices had been completely restored.
But as we will see in this book of Malachi, in those short thirty-three years the priesthood had already become corrupted. In fact, the first two chapters deals with the corruption of that time, and by prophecy, the corruption that we see in our religious institutions of today.
As we study the Lord's Words through the Prophet Malachi, written 2373 years ago, we will not be able to avoid seeing the state of our generation as if in a mirror. This is the substance of all prophecy. (Read the scrolling Scripture of [Malachi 2:17] at the top of this page, and apply it to what we have now in many of the Congregations, what with New-Age (Mystic) religious ideas creeping in, over-tolerance, blatant Clergy condoned openly gay churches. . .)
From this 'Restoration of the Temple and worship & sacrifices toward Almighty God and the first Passover', till the birth of John the Baptist and our Savior Jesus Christ, was also a span of 400 years time. This 400 years is significant when we take Biblical numeric's into account. For the number 400 is 40 (the number denoting Probation) multiplied by 10 (the number denoting Divine perfection). For truly, since the time of the Restoration of the Temple, till the decline of Jerusalem into a people whose High Priest and Temple Hierarchy orchestrated the murder of the Messiah, whom their own Hebrew Prophets had foretold of, was a Probation of Divine magnitude. Had not Jesus paid the price on the cross, the probation would have been revoked and sentence passed on mankind. That sentence of course would have had to have been death. For man is dead in his sins, but is alive because of the sacrifice and the price paid by the Messiah Jesus Christ:
Rom 6:11
11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. (KJV)
There are non-Canonized (not recognized as true Divine Inspired Scripture) books written between the time that the book of Malachi was completed (last book in the Old Testament), and the time that the events written of in the book of Matthew (first book in the New Testament) came about. These books fall under the category called 'Pseudepigrapha' books. But there seems to be little Scriptural authority to accept them as anything other than historical books and not true Divine Scripture. Although there are a few that may disagree with that statement, these books do not in fact appear in the Bible. Thus we shall not consider them.
Therefore, in the last two verses of the last written book of the Old Testament (Malachi) we see that John the Baptist and The Messiah Jesus Christ are prophesied to come. And in the first chapter of the first book of the New Testament (Matthew) we see prophecy fulfilled with the birth of Jesus [Matt 1:25]. And in the parallel book of Luke we get a good account of the birth of John the Baptist whom preceded Jesus by six months [Luke 1:59-63]. Thus fulfilling the prophecy that closes the book of Malachi, which, as the latest written book of the Old testament, closes written Scripture till the New Testament era:
Mal 4:5-6 (Final two verses in Old Testament)
5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:
6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse. (KJV)
And below is the Scripture that identifies John the Baptist as the one who comes in the name of Elijah (Elias in the Greek language of the New Testament). The verses in Bold Italics are the fulfillment some 370 years later, of the prophecy written above in [Malachi 4:5-6].
Luke 1:13-17 (John the Baptist, in the spirit of Elijah, prophesied to precede Jesus)
13 But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.
14 And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth.
15 For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb.
16 And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God.
17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord. (KJV)
This prophecy of [Malachi 4:5-6] regarding Elijah preceding Christ to turn the hearts of the children to the fathers will again be fulfilled in a slightly different way prior to the Second Advent of Jesus Christ, just as it was fulfilled prior to the first Advent of Christ. For if they would have accepted John the Baptist, that would have been the end of this age and would have ushered in the Millennium and then on into the Eternity. For the deeper scholar: That is why the seventieth week of Daniel's seventy weeks prophecy is yet in abeyance (postponement) [Dan 9:27 & Dan 11:21- . . .].
But they did not accept John the Baptist, they beheaded him. And they did not accept Jesus Christ, they crucified Him. They (we) will not have the opportunity to do that again, thank God. For next time, Jesus is not coming born as a babe to be crucified, but he is coming as The Lord of Lords, and The King of Kings to rule with a rod of iron [Rev 19:11-16].
As we see in the first verse of the book of Malachi, it is addressed to Israel. Now to understand who this Israel was, we will require a knowledge of who Israel is today.
First of all, when studying Biblical history and prophecy, you mustn't confuse the House of Israel with the House of Judah. When you see the 'House of Israel' written of in the scriptures, it refers to the Ten Northern Tribes of Israel (now referred to as the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel). But when you see the 'House of Judah' spoken of, it refers to the Southern Kingdom consisting of peoples of the Tribes of Judah and Benjamin.
Originally, when the Houses were still joined together, there were twelve Tribes. These Twelve Tribes became split into two Houses, one called the Northern Kingdom, and the other called the Southern Kingdom. To this very day they are split, with the Ten Northern tribes having lost all knowledge of their identity, as was prophesied of to happen in Scripture:
Rom 11:25
25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. (KJV)
But what ever became of Israel (the Ten Lost Tribes)? After a three years siege and the final fall of Samaria, Israel became an Assyrian Province, and in 611 BC (722 BC by profane history), Israel ceased to be, and dropped out of history.
But Israel (the Ten Lost Tribes) were never lost to God, they migrated North over the Caucasus Mountains (where we get our word 'Caucasian' from) and settled Europe, eventually populating Scotland, Ireland, Britain, Iceland, and ultimately crossing westward over the seas and established the Americas (North, South, and Central).
Yes we are the descendants of the lost Northern Ten Tribes of Israel. We are the chosen people of God. Look around the world, who is the last light of hope in the world? America of course! That does not mean that we are Jewish, for as you see by the division of the original 12 tribes descended from Jacob; Judah is only one of those tribes.
And those that we now call Jews today, are only a portion of the true Tribe of Judah who have intermixed with the heathen and profane descendants of Cain, the first murderer. In other words, all those of the tribe of Judah are not Jews, and none of the ten lost tribes are Jews. It is important to understand the differences so that you know who the Bible is speaking about in a particular verse.
That is why in the New Testament, those who betrayed Christ and forced Pontius Pilot's hand into crucifying Jesus Christ were the High Jewish Priest Ca'-ia-phas and the Jewish Temple Hierarchy. They were corrupted both in morals and genealogy, and this explains why Jesus called them 'sons of the devil and of the first murderer' [John 8:44].
John 8:44 (Jesus speaking to the Pharisees who were the Jewish Temple hierarchy of the time)
44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. (KJV)
"A murderer from the beginning." Who was the first murderer? Cain of course was the first murderer, having killed his brother Able in the Garden of Eden. Cain was not of the 12 tribes of Jacob (Israel and Judah combined), but his offspring, the Kenites, which means sons of Cain (offspring, no gender implied), had intermixed with some of the true Tribe of Judah. These Kenites have mixed with all races and tribes of people on the earth. A Kenite is a descendant of Cain, the same Cain who was the first murderer in the Garden of Eden. Below is a definition from the Strong's Exhaustive Concordance:
Kenite: Hebrew word #7017 Qeyniy (kay-nee'); or Qiyniy (1st Chron. 2:55) (kee-nee'); patronymic from Hebrew word #7014 (see below); a Kenite or member of the tribe of Kajin:
Cain: Hebrew word #7014 Qayin (kah'-yin): Kajin, the name of the first child, also of a place in Palestine, and of an Oriental tribe. As a proper noun, masculine: Cain = "possession"; the oldest son of Adam and Eve and the first murderer, having murdered his brother Abel.
It must be stated that ALL JEWS ARE NOT Kenites! Only a portion that became intermixed with the Kenites. Jewish people have been blamed for a lot of things that they did not do. Jesus Himself descended from the tribes of Judah and Levi on His mother's side; His father of course being God. There are many books on the migrations of the Ten Tribes of Israel and our Ancestors, here are several that we feature and review in our Biblical Study Aids section that will document the above statements: Jacob's pillar, Stonehenge and Druidism, Traditions of Glastonbury, Celt, Druid and Culdee, Saint Paul in Britain, Discovery of Ancient America. The reason we put all these links within the studies is to offer the ability to explore certain points raised that can take several pages, or even volumes, to fully document.
In the Scripture below [John 8:41-59] Jesus lashes out at these Jews, who were actually blood descendants of the first murderer Cain. And no,Cain's father was not Adam, but it was satan as the serpent in the Garden. Thus these particular Jews that Jesus is censuring, were descendants of the devil. I know many do not teach this, but it is true and Biblical . It must be made clear that NOT ALL Jews are Kenite Jews. There are many good Jews that are not intermingled with Kenites. In fact, these Kenites also interbred within some of all the races and the different nationalities, and you won't know who is who, so don't point fingers at anyone. It is currently miss-taught that all the peoples of the earth descended from one pair, Adam and Eve. Besides not being Biblically sound, this position is also an anthropological impossibility. Once we learn the truth contained within the Bible about certain events, instead of listening to the fairy tales generated by the false teachers/preachers in the corrupted church systems of our generations, all difficulties towards believing in God and in the validity of Almighty God's Divinely Inspired Holy Written Word, The Bible, vanish.
Also, in the below Scripture you will notice that whenever Jesus refers to their (the Kenite Jews) fathers, He uses lower case "f ". But when He refers to God as the Father it is in upper-case "F ". We have highlighted the text as such ( f & F ) were the two fathers are mentioned. We are well aware that in relation to God the Father, men's fathers are placed in lower case, but there is a much deeper meaning here in the below Scripture; we see several times in the below scripture Jesus will tell them that God is not their Father. But we know that God was the Father of Adam and so then thus was God also a Patriarch of Able. But satan was the father of Cain. Also in verse 56 below, Jesus acknowledges that their father was Abraham, thus illustrating the interbreeding of the descendants of God and the descendants of the devil (satan, who was the serpent in the Garden). John 8:41-59 (Jesus speaking to the Kenite Jews)
41 Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.
42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.
43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.
44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.
46 Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me?
47 He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.
48 Then answered the Jews, and said unto him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a devil?
49 Jesus answered, I have not a devil; but I honour my Father, and ye do dishonour me.
50 And I seek not mine own glory: there is one that seeketh and judgeth.
51 Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.
52 Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death.
53 Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself?
54 Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God:
55 Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying.
56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.
57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?
58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
59 Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by. (KJV)
There is a reason that We went to such great lengths to document that there are two fathers; one father who was the serpent in the Garden of Eden who seduced Eve impregnating her with his evil seed that resulted in the birth Cain's the murderer of his half brother (on their mother's side) Able. You will notice that Cain is not listed in Adam's genealogy in [Genesis chapter 5], didn't you ever wonder why? Cain is not listed in the generations (geneology) of Adam because Adam was not his father, satan was. Satan goes by many different names: satan, the serpent, the devil, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, the vile one, the father of lies, the morning star, lucifer, the assyrian, the dragon, , the second beast of Revelation 13:11, the antichrist. . . ; all the same one entity who changes names as he changes roles). Do not struggle with the fact that all those names are the same entity satan, for you know that Jesus also goes by many different names but it is still Him. ie: Son of God, Son of Man, Messiah, The Anointed one, Tree of life, Man of sorrows, The Branch, Living Waters, The First and the Last, The Word, . . . .

And the other father was Father God, who formed Adam, and Adam went on to begat Able, and after Able's murder Adam begat Seth, and the promise traveled through Seth. . . . all the way to Mother Mary, who was the flesh side of Jesus Christ. Christ being born by the virgin birth caused by God through His Holy Spirit. Jesus started at God, who formed Adam, took Eve from him, and umbilical cord to umbilical cord 4000 years later was born the prophesied Messiah Jesus Christ with His other 'side' being of God through the virgin birth. This should bring to clear light the statement of Jesus in [John 14:11]: " Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake." Jesus was God, God manifested in the flesh:
John 10:30
30 I and my Father are one. (KJV)

Now you know who the two fathers are, one very Good; God, and one very bad; satan. God bless you, and watch. By understanding the Old Testament prophetical books, we can see future events as they unfold, there is no greater peace of mind than to know what is going to happen at the end of this age, through the Millennium and the dawn of the new beginning in the Eternity. We hope that you will stay with us through our studies of the whole of the book of Malachi; for so much of what is written within it is prophecies is relative to our current generation. The book of Malachi is telling us today, some 2373 years after it was written, what will happen to us in all our tomorrows.
Through Divine influence, prophecy applies itself to different events at different times, events that are similar but different, separated by centuries but tied tied together by circumstance. This is the evidence of the presence of the Holy Spirit upon the writers of God's Sacred Scriptures. Man cannot foretell nor manipulate the unfolding of events, or the actions of Nations and peoples hundreds and thousands of years into the future. But with God all things are possible:
Mark 10:27
27 And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible. (KJV)
The relation of the Old testament book of Malachi to the New Testament
The book of Malachi is in the Minor Prophets section of the Old Testament. And as we will learn through our study of the book of Malachi; the Old Testament is a hint to come of the New Testament, and most certainly is not replaced by it. The Old Testament is prophecy fulfilled by the New Testament. It is evident that the tendency of the Twentieth Century Christian is to, in essence, disregard the Old Testament as a collection of Books superceded by the New Testament. What a 'fatal error' this is in regards to understanding the complete plan and Word of God!
The Old Testament and the New Testament are combined the one great story of one man's family (Adam), his descendants (including The Messiah), and the peoples and events that they encounter down through the history of the world. Did not Apostle Paul tell us of the first man Adam (Adam from the Garden), and the second Man Adam (The Messiah Jesus Christ):
1 Cor 15:45-47
45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.
47 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. (KJV)
We can no more separate the first man Adam, who brought sin and death into the world, from the second Man Adam, whom upon living thirty-three years without even one sin, defeated death on the cross for the sins of all of mankind, than we can separate the Old Testament from the New.
If the New Testament is the birth of God's plan of salvation for His world, then the Old Testament is it's labor pangs; you can no more erase the Old Testament after the New Testament came about, than you can erase your own conception once your birth comes about. Without the first, the second has no existence or animation, without the beginning, the end makes no sense nor has any order.
This is the spirit in which the Old Testament should be regarded and studied. And actually the terms 'Old Testament' and 'New Testament' really mean 'Old Covenant' and 'New Covenant'. In the Old Covenant, we were to offer the blood of sacrificial animals to the Lord for the forgiveness of sin; in the New Covenant, Jesus Christ became a one time for all sacrifice and offering to Almighty God for the sins of the World; for all whom would believe upon and accept Him that is.
The book of Malachi is the last book in the Old Testament. The Old Testament order of books which our modern day English Bible follows is taken from the Latin Vulgate, whose order was copied from from the Greek Septuagint (Known by the abbreviation LXX). LXX is the number 70 in Roman numerals. The title 'Septuagint' refers to the 70 Scholars and Translators who worked on it. In this ancient Greek Version of the Hebrew Old Testament many of the names of the individual books were changed and their order of appearance was re-arranged instead of following the order of the original Hebrew Cannon. There was no authority to do this. The books of the Old testament are classified into four groups, and are divided as such:
While they did not change the books themselves, they did disrupt the Devine Order in which the Holy Spirit had intended the books to be presented. No one can tell us why or exactly when this rearrangement was made.
In our Study Aids section we review a great work on this subject titled The Names and Order of the Books of the Old Testament (click to review) by E.W. Bulliger, written in the late 1800's and faithfully reprinted. We therefore will go no further into the Order of the Old Testament Books other than as it relates to our study of the Book of Malachi.
In the Old Testament there are sixteen Prophetical Books, four are called: 'The Major Prophets' and twelve are called the: 'Minor Prophets'. The Minor Prophets are called such because of the brievety of them and has nothing to do with their importance. There is however, no Manuscript authority for grouping them as such. The book that we are studying here (Malachi) is chronologically the last Prophetical Book as given by the Holy Spirit. The book of Malachi just happens to be accurately placed last of the Prophetical books in our Bible, this is not always the case in our Bible. But the book of Malachi is inaccurately placed as the last book of the whole of the Old Testament. According to the original Hebrew Cannon, the last book in the Old Testament should be The Book Of The Chronicles (1st and 2nd Chronicles being rendered as one book in the original Hebrew Cannon).
And you must understand that the all of books of the Bible are given not by the men's words or by man's order and arrangement, but by the Divine inspiration of the Holy Spirit of Almighty God. Without such understanding all fruitful scripture study is futile.
2 Pet 1:19-21
19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. (KJV)
Understanding the correct order of the books of the Old testament sheds light on many before misunderstood Scriptures. For instance, in the New testament book of Matthew, Jesus makes a proclamation against the Scribes and Pharisees whom He refers to as hypocrites. Having just finishing delivering the Eight Woes [Matt 23:13-33] unto them, Jesus makes a statement against them in [Matt 23:35] that seems to be out of place, or the significance of it seems lacking:
Matt 23:35 (Jesus speaking)
35 That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar. (KJV)
What is the connection or signifigance for mentioning the murder of Abel and Zacharias together? When Jesus was blaming the Scribes, Pharisees, and those like them for the murder of righteous men, why did He single out Abel and Zacharias (Zechariah in the Hebrew language of the Old testament)? For surely many other righteous men were murdered, why not mention them?
Jesus was referring to individuals written of in Scripture that was extant in His time, Scripture that the Scribes and Pharisees well knew (the Hebrew Cannon, where we would eventually get our Old testament from). And when it is understood that righteous Abel was the first murder victim, and that his murder was written of in the first book of the Hebrew Cannon [Genesis]; and that Zacharias (Zechariah) was also a righteous man of God, and his murder was recorded in the last book of the Hebrew Cannon [Chronicles], it at once makes sense. Jesus was blaming the Scribes, Pharisees and people like them for the murder of all the righteous men of God, from the beginning of scriptural history [Genesis] to the end of scriptural history [Chronicles].
THE FIRST:

By pointing us to the first and the last, Jesus includes all that came between. And by extension, you could also say to all those murders of the righteous Martyrs that would follow, committed by evil men such as they. For while Jesus was speaking directly to the hypocritical Scribes and Pharisees (who were the Highest religious figures of the time), He was also speaking of all those like them, both from before and those whom would come after, even to our day.
Especially to our generation, for it will be the leaders of the corrupted religious systems of our generation that will usher in and embrace the antichrist (false messiah, the instead-of christ, satan; all the same one entity) as the True Messiah Jesus Christ. Although most but the very top echelon of these corrupted world religions will be doing it in ignorance. An ignorance spawn by the rejection of God's Holy Written Word in deference to what some mere men say from the pulpits of the corrupted and defiled Churches, Synagogues, and Temples of this world. These aren't my words, they are God's Words written down to you by the Divine Inspiration of the Holy Spirit upon the Prophets and Apostles, so that you could be forewarned.
"Buckel your seatbelts," Malachi is a powerfull book. May God bless your study of all the Holy Scriptures, and may God open your understanding to the Prophetic utterances of the Holy Spirit through His Prophet Malachi. This we ask in the Precious Name of Jesus Christ.
The reason that we are to ask things of God in the name of Jesus Christ is to document to the Father that we are in fact a believer in His Only Begotten Son, the Great Messiah and all He has done and represents. This make us party to the promise. But we to always pray to the Father (God Himself). Jesus Himself taught us that when He gave us the model prayer in [Mt 6:9-13]:

9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. (KJV)
