The Unforgivable Sin

       We segmented this study into chapters with individual links so that the reader may, if only having time to read a portion of the study, easily once again find his place during another study session.  It is highly recommended that the reader follow this study from start to finish instead of hopping around.

  1. Introduction to the subject.

  2. Revision; why the interpretation change?

  3. The Unforgivable Sin; internal evidence from Scripture.

  4. Son of Man/Son of God; differences in titles.

  5. The Holy Trinity (the Triune Godhead).

  6. The Holy Spirit in relation to Jesus Christ.

  7. Let's tie it all together; what is the Unforgivable Sin?

  8. The New Age connection, committing the Unforgivable Sin.

  9. Conclusions; what is THAT sin today?

Introduction to the subject.
To top

       Below is a follow-up question from a reader of the site (i.e., a member of Watchmen Bible Study Group), which reply may help clear up some vague points and to further more deeply address some of the statements in the Bible study elsewhere on our site called Once saved, always saved-are you so sure?.  The question arose in the that prior study "What is the Unforgivable Sin."  This present study addresses that question.

Rick writes:

  Nick, I have just finished reading this study [Once saved, always saved-are you so sure?], and I was somewhat surprised by a few things.

       First of all, like you stated previously about the unforgivable sin, I have heard it taught as [a fine Christian Pastor in Arkansas] does.

       This new idea of it being different has caused me to stop and consider your study.  I was wondering if you have done a separate study on this subject, and can offer additional scriptures that can be referenced?

       The second issue, is that some will actually die in the Tribulation.  The link that you provided no longer exists, and I would very much love to study more on this subject: Scriptural Evidences That Christians Shall Die In The Great Tribulation

       Personally, I am not afraid to give my flesh life in this Tribulation, so I am not asking because of fear.  Actually, I would like to be able to review the scriptures myself.

       On a different subject, I have also read your study on this "Tabernacle Study" [Anatomy of a False Doctrine].  I have never heard of these studies, but I have heard [a fine Christian Pastor in Arkansas]  make references to some who attend the Passover, who are at the "outskirts" handing out "God knows what".  I would assume that he is aware of these false teachings, and that this maybe what he is referring to.  Anyway, I wanted to pass on a "Thank You" for this particular study.  I had always assumed that someone with eyes to see and ears to hear could not be deceived, but this study [Anatomy of a False Doctrine] drives home the point that any of us could be deceived by satan.  Having this foreknowledge about this group will insure that I am not taken in by this particular group, and to re-enforce the point of always checking out what is being said.

       I have also found out today, that I can't take for granted what will be in one of your studies based on the title or brief description only.  I have read most of your studies, but now I see that I will also go back and do those studies which I figured I knew the answer to already.

       May God bless your work....  Rick

       I'd like to thank everyone who has written in with kind words of encouragement and support — they really do mean much to us here.  I really enjoy the interaction with readers when they write, it makes this Bible study group a much more personal experience.  When writing these Bible studies it is not just one person writing and and another reading later on, I feel as though the reader is sitting across the table with an open Bible between us.  I feel that we are studying together, and we can both be comforted with the words of the Master:

Matt 18:20
20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. (KJV)

       We gather here on the Internet, we study God's Word electronically thru our computers and Web TV's over phone and cable lines; and while we are in different parts of the world and even writing and reading at different points in time, God is timeless and boundary-less, He is able to be everywhere at every time.  So that His blessing, the blessing of the presence of Jesus Christ in our studies, is sure.

       Today one writes, tomorrow another reads, the Lord ever there with the both.  Today we read Scriptures set down in words written millennia ago, but the Holy Spirit is there with the reader today.  Our Lord is not bound by time, He is the Great: "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last." (Rev 22:13), what can time answer against the Lord Jesus Christ whom IS before time even was?  "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." (John 1:1); and again "And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you." (Exod 3:14).

       My point is that though we gather at different times and from different places to study Bible we are not alone in our quest of Him, and it is He Himself that has assured us "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them" (Matt 18:20)

       Regarding the upcoming study that you mentioned which you could not access (Scriptural Evidences That Christians Shall Die In The Great Tribulation ), it has not yet been posted.  It has been all but complete for many months now, but I feel as though I am missing something in it, that we have left something undone.  I believe that what needs to be completed is the section regarding hope for the end-time Christian, for there is hope of Divine protection for some in the last days, the Scriptures allude to it very very briefly as perhaps that it is something to be hoped for upon faith and not in so much proof; and that needs to be fully explored and placed before the reader.

       So anyway, once this final element of the study is drawn out from the Scriptures then the study will be complete and presented for the scrutiny of our Christian fellows.  We can never 'rush' a study and feel that the task has been well administered.  So it may be posted tomorrow or next month, or never -- I do not know.  But I suspect within a short time it will be ready for consumption.  Everyone on the mailing list will be notified.

       We have recently purchased a quality mass-mailing service, and when the aforementioned study is ready to be presented it will be the first mass-mailing made to our readers on our mailing lists in a long time (many of you have signed-up and then wondered why you haven't heard from us  — You shall).  It will also be the first use of the new service.  It was very important for us that we acquired on a subscription basis the best mailing service that we could afford so that we could be confident that our mailing lists would not be compromised by the many corrupt mailers who data-mine all mail lists in their databases and sell the e-mail addresses to the highest bidders (some of them sex sites and drug and 'Investment' company advertisers).  It is ever so important to me personally that nobody has to regret entrusting us with their e-mail address.

Revision; why the interpretation change?
To top

You remember that Rick had asked:

"...like you stated previously about the unforgivable sin, I have heard it taught as [a fine Christian Pastor in Arkansas] does.

This new idea of it being different has caused me to stop and consider your study.  I was wondering if you have done a separate study on this subject, and can offer additional scriptures that can be referenced?"

       Thank you for asking that.  I had wanted to address this in more detail in the original study (Once saved...) but time and space deemed that to be inconvenient.  Sometimes when one places too much information in a short span the whole becomes confusing.  It is nice that now herein we can fully investigate this subject in a vacuum.  I also appreciate that you wish to search the Scriptures themselves for proofs and evidences, that is what we encourage all students of the Word to do.  Always check out everything any man tells you by seeking Scriptural documentation.

       No man is perfect; and even E.W. Bullinger (of Companion Bible fame), who is my all-time favorite Bible teacher erred in that he believed in a Rapture doctrine.  God would not ever allow any man to be perfect else that man would be idolized and people would come to say "what does that man say about the Scripture," rather than "What saith the Lord..."

       I know that I have drifted off-subject here, but this is something that I have wanted to say to you all for a long time.  Allow me to finish my point and then we will get to the task at hand which is understand what the Unforgivable Sin is.

       I, like you all have studied under others or have read the work of others to help me in my understanding of the Scriptures.  There is nothing wrong with that, for even the Scriptures themselves declare that Bible teachers are a permanent and God-ordained institution:

Rom 10:13-17
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?
17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.  (KJV)

       The Ethiopian (African), in a Holy Spirit-blessed discourse with Phillip, stated that  Scripture teachers are necessary, and there was no wrong in seeking assistance to understand the Scriptures:

Acts 8:26-31
26 And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.
27 And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship,
28 Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet.
29 Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.
30 And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?
31 And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.  (KJV)

       But this Phillip was no 'mere' Bible teacher, he was speaking under the direct inspiration of the Holy Spirit.  Today the teachers of Bible are but men, fallible as all man is.  So that while we may take as "Gospel" that which is spoken and written by the blessed men of God in the Bible, we must always be careful to double-check any Bible teacher today.  There is no insult taken by me when someone writes to me to ask for further documentation, or even to disagree; in fact I learn more by supplying and documenting it with second and third Scriptural witnesses.

       There is not a Bible teacher ever, whom I have studied, that I do not disagree with on at least some small things.  This does not make me think less of them, for all fall short; but rather it teaches me to take no statement for granted, not to accept any teaching without first being able to find it's correspondence in the Word of God, the Bible.  This you should adopt as Bible study policy.

       Correspondingly, there is not a Bible teacher ever, that after deeper study and review, has not had to change his position on something.  How about you personally, have not you yourself grew in the Scriptures over time and increased in knowledge by the Word of the Lord which has caused you to change some of your own once held positions?   We all have and will.

       Well, this is a very difficult thing to do when one is in print.  It is humbling and painful.  I have myself changed my opinion on some matters, one of them being the nature of the Unforgivable Sin.  Further study in the Scriptures indicates to me that there is a more accurate interpretation than was previously set forth.  I shall set forth my Scriptural evidence in this study and let the reader decide where he stands on the matter.

       It would have been much easier for me (personally) to just pull down the old interpretation and revise it without explanation, without telling the reader that something has been changed.  But I feel that this would have been disingenuous and unfair to the reader who may have answered a question to someone else based upon what they had read here.  They have the right to know what changed and why; and then after careful study and consideration they may also choose to adopt the new interpretation on the matter.  At least they will have the case presented to them with Biblical documentation.

       Nobody likes to admit they were incorrect on something, but what can I do when I see the error corrected by Scriptural truth except to teach that truth?  Would any less be acceptable?  I don't think that you would feel comfortable studying with us here if you thought that we didn't believe in what we taught.  We will always teach here that which we believe and that which we feel that we can document with Scripture, and if that mean adjusting or even reversing a position we shall present the information here for the reader explaining why and how we have come to the new interpretation.

       No human being enjoys admitting that they were wrong, even on small things, though all have been wrong at one time or another; but what place has ego and pride in the teaching the Holy Scriptures?  If you are seeking a perfect man — you have not found him here, sorry; nor shall you find a perfect human Bible teacher anywhere.  Only our Lord and His Holy Spirit are infallible.  Hopefully what you HAVE found here is a Christian brother who loves the Lord Jesus Christ, whom simply believes God, whom takes his Bible study very seriously, whom believes that the Bible is the written Word of God to His children, and seeks to learn all that he can learn of our Father's ways and His will before the time that comes — and then perchance to help a fellow Bible student out along the way.

       Peter denied, Paul persecuted, David had his lover's husband killed; Solomon, the wisest of all, built altars to strange gods; all men everywhere are simply just that - men, human and fallible and weak.  But we trust that our Lord God is with us in our studies and that He will correct where it is necessary and forgive where it is needed and protect at once the credibility of all those that humbly seek to teach His Word and His words.

       If you teach Bible then you know exactly what I mean; if you will someday go on to teach Bible then you shall know exactly what I mean.

       The book of Daniel hinted in no small way that positions would be changed with greater new inspiration poured out by the Lord in the end-times "And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end." (Dan 12:9), and again "But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased." (Dan 12:4).  Well it is not a wise man that refuses new information:

Prov 1:5-7
5 A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:
6 To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.
7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. (KJV)

       I am comforted by the humble words of whom I consider to be one of the Bible teaching greats, E.W. Bullinger.  I shall let him speak for himself and for all everywhere whom aspire to teach the Word and the words of our Lord.  In the below, written shortly before his death, E.W. Bullinger, the great Biblical Scholar respected by even those who disagree with him (the truest form of compliment) said it quite well with an equal amount of humility regarding the study of the Bible by himself and his staff at Things to Come, a periodical published in the early 19th century:

  None are more cognizant of imperfection and failure than ourselves; and, after all we have done, there is still much left for others to do.

       We do not exhaust the book; and may, after all, have only laid out a road on which others may follow with far greater success.  We claim only one thing - an earnest desire to believe God; and to receive what He has said, regardless alike of the praise of man or the fear of man; and quite apart from all traditional beliefs or interpretations.

       May the Lord own and use and bless our efforts for His own Glory and the good of His people.

-- E.W. Bullinger, The Apocalypse, xii (as quoted in E.W. Bullinger, A Biography, ppg. 233-234).

May our Savior Jesus Christ bless our studies through the Holy Spirit of our Lord God.

The Unforgivable Sin; internal
 evidence from Scripture.

To top

       So then, what is this Unforgivable Sin that the Scriptures allude to in some half-dozen places?  And what Bible student is there that hasn't happened across the mention of an unforgivable sin in Scripture and not wondered what that sin was? In this study we shall examine it from all angles, searching the Scriptures for our answers.

       We see from the Scriptures themselves several things about this unforgivable sin.  We see that before Jesus had ascended it was impossible to commit this sin:

Matt 12:30-32
30 He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.
31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man
[Jesus Christ BEFORE HE ascended], it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost [which was sent by Jesus Christ AFTER He ascended], it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come. (KJV)

       We see that this sin is regarding the 'third part' of the Trinity, the Holy Spirit of God.  It is not stated to be one who blasphemes God nor His Christ, but only His Holy Spirit (but they are One as we shall see).  And that the 'assault' on that Holy Spirit is the unforgivable sin:

Mark 3:22-30
22 And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He
[Jesus] hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils.
23 And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan?
24 And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.
25 And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.
26 And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
27 No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.
28 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:
29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation:
30 Because they said, He
[Jesus] hath an unclean spirit. (KJV)

       We see that it is impossible to find forgiveness for one who has committed this sin — there is no way back for them, no repentance available to them.  We also see a little deeper into what the nature of this unforgivable sin is.  We see that only believers can commit this sin.  We also see it associated with the "falling away," which brings our minds to "...for that day [Second Advent] shall not come, except there come a falling away first...." (II Th 2:3):

Heb 6:4-6
4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance
[no forgiveness]; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God [Jesus Christ AFTER He ascended] afresh, and put him to an open shame.  (KJV)

       We see the unhappy state of one who commits this unforgivable sin:

I Jn 5:16-17
16 If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.
17 All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death. (KJV)

Son of Man/Son of God;
differences in titles.

To top

      In the above Scriptures we saw two epitaphs of Jesus, one the Son of Man, and the other the Son of God.  They both refer to Jesus Christ.   We see these two terms all throughout the New Testament regarding Jesus Christ.  But they are different, and the difference has a meaning concerning every Scripture wherein the terms are utilized.

       The term Son of Man has regard to Jesus Christ as the man, the man born of flesh through Mary by the Holy Spirit, sent from Heaven — and His dealings and administrations from the aspect of the in the flesh Savior.  The term Son of God is used of this Man Jesus Christ glorified and with authority in His position in Heaven.  The Son of God is what the Son of Man was before He was incarnated into the flesh.  The Son of Man is Son of Adam, and as we see Jesus was the Last Adam "And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit." (1 Cor 15:45).  The word "Adam" in the Hebrew means 'man;' and while this is the New Testament Greek language here in our Scripture, the mind of the Author and Finisher was in Hebrew.

       "Son of Man" is a term directly related to the Son of Adam.  For Jesus came through Adam's loins by Eve, Jesus was the ultimate Son of Adam (flesh).  Jesus was also the Son of God though the Holy Spirit (Lk 1:35), so He is also the ultimate Son of God (spiritual).  Can you see the differences in the titles a little better now?  It is more to be the Son of God than it is to be the Son of Adam, for Adam was flesh but God is Spirit (Jn 4:24), Adam sinned and lied but God can not lie (Titus 1:2) nor is any sin in Him (1st jn 3:5), Adam died but God is eternal, Adam was formed by God but God BECAME by His own will (I AM - Ex 3:14).  So when Jesus is spoken of in the Scriptures as the Son of God it is a higher title than when He is referred to as the Son of man, so too are all His dealings higher when spoken of as the Son of God, for Adam was a flesh  son of God (Lk 3:38) and there many angelic sons of God (Gen 6:2) but there is only one Son of God.

       So that while it can be said of the Son of Man that "...The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head." (Matt 8:20), it would not be said of the Son of God.  For the Son of God is the Son of Man glorified:

Heb 10:10-13
10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:
12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. (KJV)

       And while the Son of God was petitioned by devils for mercy "...What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?" (Matt 8:29), the Son of Man is never so spoken of in this regard by the evil spirits.  The devils (demons/evil spirits) knew Jesus from before He came in the flesh to be born of woman, and they address Him properly as the Son of God, not as the Son of Adam (Son of Man).  Another example of an (evil) spiritual entity from the other side addressing Jesus:

Mark 5:7-9
7 And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.
8 For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.
9 And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.  (KJV)

       Evil spirits are from the heavenly realm, they know full well whom Jesus was; never once did they dare speak irreverently to Jesus.  They always addressed Him with titles of honor and confirmed that He was Divine.  Not that we need look to evil spirits to confirm Jesus' Divine nature, but they, the evil spirits, being in the heavenly spiritual realm, knowing more things than flesh can ever know — always humbled, bowed to, and begged Jesus; they never blasphemed Him.

Matt 8:29
29 And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time? (KJV)

Mark 1:24
24 Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God. (KJV)

Mark 5:7
7 And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not. (KJV)

Luke 4:34
34 Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God. (KJV)

Acts 19:15
15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? (KJV)

       This should be comforting to you.  A Christian has the power of protection within himself because the Holy Spirit resides in the Christian believer.  Demons and evil spirits must flee the Christian when the Christian orders them out by the power of the name of Jesus Christ.  They must go, staying is not an option open to them, and if they tarry then God has a place to send them that they are horrified of being sent to — Tartaroo (Tartaros), the place of holding for the damned spirits.

2 Pet 2:4
4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; (KJV)

cast down to hell:  Greek word #5020 tartaroo (tar-tar-o'-o); from Tartaros (the deepest abyss of Hades); to incarcerate in eternal torment: KJV-- cast down to hell.

This word (tartaroo) is used only once in the Bible and is associated with those fallen angels of Jude 1:6 who were those of Gen 6:2

Jude 1:6
6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.  (KJV)

Gen 6:2-4
2 That the sons of God
[the angels which left their estate in  Heaven] saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.
3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God
['sons of God' are angels] came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. (KJV)

       Sorry for the 'conversation drift,' or 'mission creep' as they call it in the military.  But anyway, back to our subject, Bullinger has an appendix in his Companion Bible that touches on the differences and relationship of the titles Son of God to Son of Man.  Below is an excerpt of the terms "Son of God" & "Son of Man" from that appendix

       Excerpt from Appendix 98 of the Companion Bible:

XV.  THE SON OF GOD.

   This title expresses the relation of the Son to the Father (Matthew 1:20. Luke 1:31,35); and of all those who are begotten of God (see note on Matthew 1:1. 1John 3:1).

   It differs therefore from the relationship expressed by "the Son of man", which relates to "dominion" in the earth (see XVI, below).

   As the Son of God, Christ is "the heir of all things" (Hebrews 1:2), and is invested with "all power", and is "the Resurrection and the Life" (John 11:25), having power to raise the dead (John 5:25). As "the Son of man", all judgment is committed to Him (John 5:27) in the earth. See on No. XVI, below.

XVI.  THE SON OF MAN.

   This title, when used of Christ, always has the Article; and the word for man is anthropos (see Appendix 123. I).

   When used of a human being, as in Ezekiel, it never has the Article (see notes on Psalm 8:4, and Ezekiel 2:1).

   To the "first man, Adam" was given dominion over the works of the Creator (Genesis 1:26). Through the Fall (Genesis 3), this dominion was forfeited, and lost, and is now in abeyance; no one son of Adam having any right to universal dominion. Hence, all the chaos, "unrest", and conflicts between men and nations, which must continue until He shall come Whose right it is to rule in the earth (Ezekiel 21:27). The great enemy, who wrought all the mischief at the Fall, has tried, from time to time, to exercise this authority by setting up some human head. He tried Nebuchadnezzar, Alexander the Great, and others, and in later days Napoleon; but he will finally succeed for a brief period with the Antichrist, until "the second man", "the last Adam" (1Corinthians 15:45), "the Son of Man", to Whom all dominion in the earth has, in the counsels of God, been given, shall take unto Him His great power and reign.

   All this and more is contained in His title as "the Son of Man". Its first occurrence is in Psalm 8, where in verses 1 and 8 His connection with the "earth" is proclaimed; and "dominion" over it is given to Him. It denotes Him Who is "the heir of all things", in virtue of which all things shall one day be put under His feet. "But now we see not yet all things put under Him. But we see Jesus, Who was made a little lower than the angels", humbling Himself unto death, even the death of the Cross (compare Hebrews 2:8,9).

(END OF EXCERPT)

The Holy Trinity (the Triune Godhead).
To top

       Why is this important to our current study?  Because something significant happened that would forever change the world when Jesus ascended up unto high in the Heavens - He sent the Holy Spirit to us on Earth.

       Now a deeper understanding of the Holy Trinity (the Triune Godhead) will make for a better understanding of the rest of this study.  For if one does not fully understand the nature of God he will not comprehend the nature of the Holy Spirit (nor of Christ Jesus).  Many (most) Christians are absolutely at a loss for explaining just what exactly what the Holy Spirit is.  This is no sin, not even great error, nor anything for a Christian to be ashamed of; for it is very difficult for our human minds to comprehend the Holy Trinity, which is referred to (named) as the "Godhead" in Scripture (the word "Trinity" actually is not found in the Bible, but it is the very same concept as the "Godhead" which is found in the Scriptures, so there is no big deal in the use of the term Trinity as synonymous with Godhead).

       If after reading this Bible study you still have a problem 'connecting the dots', then see the The Holy Spirit & The Holy Trinity  study and much should fall into place for you.  Or, better yet, bookmark this study and stop here, coming back to this place after you read the Holy Trinity study.  I know, I know, so much to study, so little time.  But patience is the word of the day.  There will always be time where it is made.  True understanding comes at the price of time well spent in study.  Remember that Rome wasn't built in a day, as they say; how much longer the understanding of the deeper things of God?

       But for kindness sake to those who are short on time, I will excerpt that study with a segment that briefly explains the nature of God enough for the purposes of this present Bible study.

       Excerpt from The Holy Spirit & The Holy Trinity:

~~~ the Holy Trinity (the TRIUNE Godhead) ~~~
        Many may be surprised to learn that the word "Trinity," or "Holy Trinity" is nowhere to be found in the Bible (If you are using anything other than a King James Bible (KJV), see: Appendix One — Bible Versions) at the end of this study.  (There is a link there to come back to this very place in the study.)  However, what is found written is the word Godhead
Col 2:9
9 For in him
[Jesus Christ] dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.  (KJV)
Rom 1:20
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:  (KJV)
Acts 17:29
29 Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device.  (KJV)
        The word Godhead is what is commonly referred to as the "Holy Trinity" or the "Triune Godhead." (although the word "Triune" is not found in the Bible either).  The words "Trinity" and "Triune" are just man's way of saying three, and this author does not see any problem with naming it as such even though it is not in the Scriptures per say; for three is implied but not stated specifically as "Trinity" or "Triune" in the Scriptures, for instance:
I Jn 5:7
7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.  (KJV)
        The concept of the Holy Trinity (we shall use this title henceforth since it is what people seem to be the most comfortable with) is difficult for our human minds to comprehend.  And it is indeed a testimony to a true Christian that they believe something on faith that they may not well be able to explain to others nor perhaps even fully comprehend themselves.  For as it is written:  "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." (Heb 11:1).
        But the Scriptures are not mute regarding the Lord's nature and identity, the truth is written there for the seeker.  But this author is convinced that a total comprehension of the Holy Trinity is not necessary for salvation; in other words, it is not necessarily a salvation issue.  For the Scriptures do not state that one must fully comprehend the Holy Trinity to be saved; nowhere do we see the Prophets of old, or Jesus Christ, nor the Apostles state that to be saved one must understand the Holy Trinity fully.  God did tell us what man must do to be saved:
John 3:15-18
15 That whosoever
[that's you!] believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.  (KJV)
        Christians do not believe in three Gods, they believe in One God in three 'offices,' 'facets,' or 'aspects,' or, revealed in three different ways.
1st 'facet' or 'part' of the Trinity
God (Yehovah 'Elohim = The Lord God), is the Father, the One and Only God Eternal!  He whom created everything, He whom has no beginning and has no end.
Exod 3:13-15
14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.
15 And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations. (KJV)
2nd facet of the Trinity
Jesus Christ of Nazareth is the Son (Yehoshua = Yehovah the Savior, or, God Savior), He is God manifested (came) in the flesh, He is God in human form come to earth to save His creation from satan and their sins.  Jesus is not another God, He is God.
John 10:27-30 (Jesus speaking)
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
30 I and my Father are one. (KJV)
3rd facet of the Trinity
Holy Spirit (tσ pneϊma tσ hαgion = The Spirit The Holy = The Holy Spirit) is the Holy Spirit of God. The Holy Spirit is the Power of God in action. It is through the Holy Spirit of God that God interacts with His creation today, for He no longer walks with man face to face as He did with Adam, Noah, Abraham....., and He no longer is physically amongst us as He was when Jesus Christ walked the earth.  This is because we (as a peoples) fell short, we forsook Him, we left Him — He didn't leave us!  Below we see that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, God's Spirit; not a separate 'person' or individual apart from God:
Acts 2:17 (Peter speaking)
17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams (KJV)
Peter was quoting the Old Testament Prophet Joel:
Joel 2:27-29
27 And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the LORD your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed.
28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.  (KJV)
        So then, you have the Lord God of all, and, you have that Lord God in the flesh (Jesus Christ), and, you have the Spirit of that Lord God (the Holy Spirit), but they are all One.  The three; God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit are three aspects of the same one entity, that being the Ever Living Almighty Lord God.  To understand how this can be so, look at it like this:
You may be a father to your child, you also may be a husband to your wife, and to your employees at work you are a boss.  But you are not three people, yet all three of those people are the one you (father, husband and boss).  When you are at work, you do not cease being boss when your wife walks in whom knows you as husband.  Likewise, you do not cease being husband to your wife when your children come home and call you father.  Well, the same goes with God, only on a much grander scale.
(END OF EXCERPT)
       People (his enemies) get mad at Pastor [a fine Christian pastor in Arkansas] for teaching the Trinity this way.  They even call his Ministry a cult!  The Shepherds Chapel is the furthest thing from a cult, he is live on free TV, he has no secret doctrines, all he teaches is open to all to see, he does does not demand blind obedience and even encourages people to double-check what he says by comparing it to the Bible — Wherein the cult in this?  I'll tell what they (his attackers) are, they are disgruntled Rapturists and Hucksters who's pews (and tithe baskets) have become empty when the Shepherd's Chapel TV Bible study program comes to their town teaching truth and taking names and kicking false teaching dragon in their rear section.
       I take this moment here to address this because I have seen the horrible lies on the WWW about Pastor [a fine Christian pastor in Arkansas], and I have fielded many a letter from a terrified newer student of the good Pastor who has read somewhere on the WWW that he  denies the Trinity!, etc. ad naseum — all blatant lies about the man!
       The Pastor I am speaking of does not like the WWW and does not go there, perhaps he is old fashioned or too set in his ways or just hasn't the time for another Ministry, but many of his students do go on the Internet; and I write this to speak to them and to assure them.  The horrible things written about Pastor are lies and misrepresentations of what he teaches.  Check out the fantastic claims and you will see that every one, to a tee, is twisted and contorted, and that venom is behind the writing of these lies.  Is it any wonder that satan would have his beguiled henchmen on Earth attack a good Christian Minister that is hurting satan's cause and helping people to see through his deceptions?  Of course not, in fact it is to be expected.  But you are not expected to believe the lies.
       I'm not big enough, not read enough to draw attack.  Satan only attacks those that are really hurting his cause.  But if I had great numbers of readers then satan would attack me through his false preachers and liars and false witness bearers.  You would be reading vile things about me on the WWW.  Is the Pastor correct 100%?  Is any man, was Bullinger, am I, are you?  Only God is.
       The mockers say that "so-and-so claims that the Holy Spirit is some force," as though the pastor was denying the Holy Spirit or teaching falsely!  They (the accusers) cannot understand that the Holy Spirit is the force of God, it is the Spirit of God, that is what it is called the Holy Spirit.  They must not have read the Scriptures too well and instead spend their time trying to defame Christian Ministers who teach the truth from the Bible.  Read the below, then tell me how 'they' can claim that the Holy Spirit is another person beside God!!! (and then tell me how they can say that they believe in One God when they believe in three?  They are polytheists - believers in multiple Gods.  Hinduism is considered a polytheistic religion!).
Luke 1:35
35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee,
and [see note below] the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.  (KJV)
       Thereby making the Holy Spirit synonymous (the same as) with the power of the Highest (the power of God).  The Bible incorporates redundancy to teach, just as in another place we learn that a scrip is a shepherd's bag  "And he took his staff in his hand, and chose him five smooth stones out of the brook, and put them in a shepherd's bag which he had, even in a scrip; and his sling was in his hand: and he drew near to the Philistine." (1 Sam 17:40).
       Regarding the word and (in red text in the Luke 1:35 Scripture), it is defined below.  It does not mean here that two things were happening, i.e.,  "Holy Ghost shall come upon thee," and "the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee," but that they were the same thing described twice in more depth, just like "in a shepherd's bag which he had" and "even in a scrip" were the same thing described twice in different ways:
and:  Greek word #2532 kai (kahee); apparently, a primary particle, having a copulative and sometimes also a cumulative force; and, also, even, so then, too, etc.; often used in connection (or composition) with other particles or small words:  KJV-- and, also, both, but, even, for, if, or, so, that, then, therefore, when, yet.
Gen 6:3
3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.  (KJV)
       Did God say in the above that "this other fellow called the Holy Spirit" will not always strive with man?  Of course not, He said that My (God's) Spirit (the Holy Spirit) shall not always....
Neh 9:30
30 Yet many years didst thou forbear them, and testifiedst against them by thy spirit in thy prophets: yet would they not give ear: therefore gavest thou them into the hand of the people of the lands.  (KJV)
       Did the Levites in the above say that "this other fellow called the Holy Spirit" testifiedst against them?  Of course not, He said that thy (God's) Spirit (the Holy Spirit) testifiedst against....
Isa 63:10
10 But they rebelled, and vexed his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and he fought against them.  (KJV)
       Does it say that "this other fellow called the Holy Spirit" was vexed?  Of course not, it says that His (God's) Holy Spirit was vexed....
       Enough said on that, I trust that the point was made.  For a detailed study on this matter see our The Holy Spirit & The Holy Trinity.
The Holy Spirit in relation to Jesus Christ.
To top
       Ok, now since this unforgivable sin has reference to the Holy Spirit, let us seek out with the Scriptures what we can of this Holy Spirit.
       We see in the below Scripture that the Holy Spirit, to which this vese is referring, is also called the Comforter and the Spirit of Truth, and is sent by Jesus from God, and also testifies of Jesus Christ:
John 15:26
26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father,
he [see note below] shall testify of me:  (KJV)
       A small note about the above verse:  Once again we see a second witness to what I said in the prior chapter about the redundancy incorporated in the Bible to teach us new terms and additional qualities of something, for in the above we see "the Comforter" and "the Spirit of truth;" these are not two separate entities or things, they are one subject described two different ways to add more information into the verse about that subject (the Holy Spirit).
       And not to beat this into the ground about the Holy Spirit being the Spirit of God, BUT in the above John 15:26 verse the word "he" (in red text) should not have been translated "he" an in 'another person,' or even as a 'person' at all, but rather should have been translated as "it (the Spirit of truth)" or "this one (this same Spirit of truth)."  Observe from the Strong's:
he:  Greek word #1565 ekeinos (ek-i'-nos); from 1563; that one (or [neuter] thing); often intensified by the art. prefixed: KJV-- he, it, the other (same), selfsame, that (same, very), X their, X them, they, this, those. See also 3778.
       Enough about that.  below we see that the Holy Spirit was not to be sent until after Jesus Christ departed this Earth:
Luke 24:49
49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.  (KJV)
       I can't resist: The giving of the Holy Spirit being referred to here is called "power from on high."  Ok, I'll stop, no more Trinity teaching.  Well....I'll try not.
       In the below we see that the Holy Spirit shall dwell within the Christian.  And even more revealing is that Jesus referred to Himself "as" the Holy Spirit, for where it says that the Holy Spirit shall be given to the Christian and dwell within him, Jesus stated that it was He Himself that comes "I will come to you."  Thus Jesus Christ is part and parcel with the Holy Spirit; they are unique yet joined, just as Jesus was unique from God yet joined "I and my Father are one." (John 10:30).  It is no leap to reach the conclusion that Jesus, God, and the Holy Spirit also are One "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one." (I Jn 5:7).
John 14:16-18
16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. (KJV)
       In the below we see that the Holy Spirit within the Christian will help that Christian to understand the Scriptures.
John 14:26
26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. (KJV)
       This is why the Scriptures that we Christians can see so clearly and which we have such great unwavering trust in are foolishness to unbelievers.  The Holy Spirit of God that dwells within every Christian makes him/her to "see the light", so to speak.  No amount of schooling, no gathering of PHD's will ever help a man to understand that which only can be absorbed through faith in Jesus Christ which endows the Christian with the Holy Spirit of God within them.  Many Scholars and wise men, unbelievers though, have often pained at why a Christian will not deny Jesus Christ even under threat of torture and death.
       To these unbelieving 'Scholars' and 'wise' men it is a great mystery why Christians world-wide willingly suffer persecutions and death for their faith.  At one time the slaughter was in the Jewish quarters of the old Middle East, then expanded to the Roman Empire by the instigation of the Jews, then in the post-Bolshevik Jewish controlled and "religiously cleansed" Russia, to the the Communist states including China and the satellites of the old U.S.S.R.; today the killing fields are in Sudan, great parts of Africa and most of the non-Westernized Muslim world.
       Judaism and Islam are mortal enemies of Christianity, both are and have drawn the blood of the Christian, as has the corrupt Catholic Church Universal during the Inquisitions of the Dark Ages, and the sooner that the Christian wakes up and realizes this the better.  In the end-times the killing field will be the world of antichrist and his global administration the executioners.
       In the below Scripture we glean that the Holy Spirit could/would not come while Jesus was here, so that we can understand that they are of the same, for what could Jesus send that was already there.  Nobody sends something that is already here, but when it departs then it can be sent again.  The Holy Spirit is to us what Jesus was to the first century Christian - God with us.  And that the things that Jesus said that the Holy Spirit would do in the below Scripture are things that we know that Jesus shall and has and is doing:
John 16:7-8
7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: (KJV)
We see below that the Holy Spirit does the will of Jesus Christ:
John 16:12-15
12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.
13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you. (KJV)
We see that the Holy Spirit is "shed forth" (given upon, poured out) by Jesus Christ:
Acts 2:32-33
32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.
33 Therefore
[Jesus] being by the right hand of God exalted, and [Jesus] having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he [Jesus] hath shed forth this [the operation of the Holy Spirit], which ye now see and hear. (KJV)
       What did they "see and hear" that Jesus had "shed forth?"  You know, it was the Holy Spirit which Jesus had earlier promised that He would send after that He had left them:
Acts 2:1-4
1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.  (KJV)
It was this that they "saw and heard":
Acts 2:18
18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:  (KJV)
 Let's tie it all together; what is the Unforgivable Sin?
To top
      So let's tie all this information together.  We have (hopefully) set forth several points thus far in this study, those being:
  • The Unforgivable Sin has to do with the Holy Spirit of the Triune Godhead (Trinity).
  • Son of Man/Son of God are different titles for Jesus Christ, Son of God having reference to His authority in Heaven.
  • The Holy Trinity (the Triune Godhead) consists of Jesus Christ the Son, God the Father, and the Holy Spirit, and these Three are One.  When God in the flesh (Jesus Christ) is on the Earth in the flesh it is not an unforgivable sin to blaspheme Him, but when the Holy Spirit of God (the Holy Spirit) is present it is unforgivable to blaspheme Him:
I Jn 5:7-8
7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.  (KJV)
       Jesus referred to Himself as the Holy Spirit rather plainly, more exactly He said that (after He departed to Heaven) He would pray to the Father to send the Holy Spirit to come to them "And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter;" He said that this other Comforter is "Even the Spirit of truth" (the Holy Spirit); He then said to them  "I will not leave you comfortless"  not meaning only that they would be comforted by the Holy Spirit, but Jesus goes one step further and gives them additional information, He said to them regarding this Comforter, this Spirit of Truth that " I  will come to you.
John 14:16-18
16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. (KJV)
       Meaning, of course, that when the Holy Spirit is with us today, Jesus is also there, as is God, for "these three are One."  These Three were separated when Jesus was in the flesh on the Earth, now they are together but not yet fully One, per sey, for they are yet still Three.  When Jesus Christ's work is done in this world (age) then He shall be One with the Father and His Holy Spirit, for we shall all be in spiritual bodies at that time and it is not necessary that God be both Spirit and flesh at once "And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all"
       In Heaven, in Rev 21, they will be fully One again forever.  God being all in all (One) and we his children under His Godship "And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God." (Rev 21:3).
       God only became flesh because we are flesh, He decided to deal with us in the flesh in the personage of Jesus Christ who was both God and flesh man, both of Adam (by Mary) and of God (i.e., Emmanuel = God with us.).  After the restitution of all things, after Judgment Day, after the Lake of Fire, after the New Heaven Age begins, there is no more flesh, neither of us nor of God, for "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." (Rev 21:4).
1 Cor 15:22-28
22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.
24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
27 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith, all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.
28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all. (KJV)
       We will also be covering further below in this study that one way to Blaspheme God is to take His name or to measure yourself as equal to Him.  Jesus was accused of this but wasn't guilty because He WAS GOD.  However, if one should do what Jesus was accused of and WAS NOT GOD (for we are not) then it would be blasphemy for them to have done it:
John 10:36
36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?  (KJV)
John 5:18
18 Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.  (KJV)
John 10:30-33
30 I and my Father are one.
31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.
32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?
33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.  (KJV)
       Thus we see that it is a blasphemy is to make yourself out to be God when you are not God.  In the below chapter we will see that men on Earth are doing this very thing today.
The New Age connection; committing the Unforgivable Sin.
To top
       The term "New Age" is somewhat misleading, for the dogma and doctrines of the so-called New Age Religion isn't really new at all, it is a blasphemy from of old, dating all the way back to the Garden of Eden.  Today, and even more as these end-times roll onward, satan has perfected his deception and even now has an legion of beguiled pledges.  Sadly, many of the new swarm are people who once considered themselves Christians.
       Were they ever really Christians to begin with?  I suppose that I am not supposed to say that they never were true Christians because a true Christian would never blaspheme so blatantly, and I suppose that I shouldn't mention the fact that the Bible warns (in 1st Jn 2:18-19) of many fake 'instead-of Christians' (antichrists - fake anointed ones) in the end-time, because then I would be accused of "judging" by the wimp-belly quasi-Christian Judeo-Christians (itself a term that contradicts itself).  So I won't say it.  God knows whether they were false Christians all along.
I Jn 2:18-19
18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.  (KJV)
       Simply stated, New Age religion/doctrine is the belief that man can aspire/evolve to become Godlike.  He (man) has some essence of God within him that some (they suppose) can develop to the point where that man/woman ascends to a higher spiritual plane, he becomes more that merely human, he becomes a higher spiritual being; he becomes godlike, even rivaling God Himself in many regards.  These poor souls suppose that it is them that will do the work of God in the end-times.  Fools!  They call these ones Ascended Masters, Illuminated Ones, Enlightened Ones, Sons of God, Beings of Light, The corporate Manchild, etc.  What they don't know (or don't care) is that in occult circles Lucifer (satan) is called The Illuminated One.
       As the beginning (once so-called Christian) initiate of this philosophy moves through the carefully crafted (by satan and his earthly agents) initiation process, the One True God is slowly stripped from him, he learns to disregard God as an impotent and jealous Creator who just doesn't want His mankind to realize their full potential.  This was the lie that satan (as the Serpent) told Eve "And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil." (Gen 3:4-5).
       Eventually God is taken completely out of the picture for the New Age "traveler."  The adept has now become antiGod (instead-of God) and has committed the ultimate blasphemy.  For any so-called once-Christian who reaches this point he .... [to say anymore would be to judge a soul — and man has not that authority].
       The penalty in the Bible for blasphemy is death.
Lev 24:16
16 And he that blasphemeth the name of the LORD, he shall surely be put to death, and all the congregation shall certainly stone him: as well the stranger, as he that is born in the land, when he blasphemeth the name of the LORD, shall be put to death.(KJV)
Luke 12:10
10 And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven. (KJV)
       Now I know that Jesus came and brought with Him forgiveness for sins, but remember we are speaking of an unforgivable sin; thus Jesus will not intercede for this one sin, or else it couldn't have been called the unforgivable sin.
       Adam & Eve were not forgiven but rather were quite harshly punished.  Not once did God instruct them to repent, he challenged all three of them "What is this that thou hast done?", He only handed out the punishment "I will greatly multiply thy sorrow....", and "Because thou hast...."  And in the end Adam and Eve did die for their sin, for they would have lived forever, but there was a condition, for God had said "But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die." (Gen 2:17), but Adam and Eve were bold against the Lord and disobeyed "...she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat." (Gen 3:6).  So Adam surely did die at the age of 930 years, Eve's age not mentioned.
       I am equating the unforgivable sin to the sin in the Garden of Eden.  I am also equating the unforgivable sin to the sin of the rapidly growing New Age movement today who's tentacles are even now reaching into the Christian denominations and drawing out the spiritually baser fellows among them, wherein man presumes himself to become as God.  I am equating the unforgivable sin to the sin of Lucifer in the age that was.  Same sin, different time, same punishment — death of both kinds.
Isa 14:12-15
12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.  (KJV)
Gen 3:5
5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. (KJV)
II Th 2:3-4
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. (KJV)
       So satan told Eve that she and Adam could be as gods, and satan himself wants to be God, why then would it be a mystery that his own in these end-times also seek unto that glory?  The below Scripture says that as satan pretends to be something that he is not, so too do his followers pretend to be something that they are not:
2 Cor 11:10-15
10 As the truth of Christ is in me, no man shall stop me of this boasting in the regions of Achaia.
11 Wherefore? because I love you not? God knoweth.
12 But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them which desire occasion; that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we.
13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.  (KJV)
transformed:  Greek word #3345 metaschematizo (met-askh-ay-mat-id'-zo); from 3326 and a derivative of 4976; to transfigure or disguise; figuratively, to apply (by accommodation): KJV-- transfer, transform (self).
       How about a little history of the New Age Movement with some quotes from their high priests and priestesses?  The below quotations are made even more remarkable when we considers that there actually people who call themselves Christians (even calling themselves God's Elect!) following these doctrines of devils:
  • In 1831, on August 12, Helena Petrovna Blavatsky was born in Russia.  Ms. Blavatsky would go on to found the Theosophical Society which could be considered the mother of New-Age religion.  Ms. Blavatsky wrote and published many books by a process called in New-Age circles "automatic writing," (demonically-manipulated while in a trance, or as we call it, Channeling).  Among these works we see the foundations of the New-Age movement dictated from hell itself. We will offer one of Blavatky's demonically channeled statements, Ms Blavatsky wrote: "Lucifer is dine and terrestrial light, the 'Holy Ghost' and 'Satan,' at one and the same time."  --(The Secret Doctrine, Vol. II - Anthropogenesis, H.P. Blavatsky Collected Writings, 1888), The Theosophical Publishing House, 1979, p. 513.
  • "[H]e [Lucifer] is the mysterious personage about whom legends are rife in the East, especially among Occultists. It is he who changes form, yet remains the same. He is the Nameless One. . .who has so many names. . .He is the Initiator." --  The Secret Doctrine, Vol. I, p. 232. by Helen Blavatsky
  • "No one will enter the New World Order unless he or she will make a pledge to worship Lucifer. No one will enter the New Age unless he will take a Luciferian Initiation."  -- David Spangler, Director of Planetary Initiative, United Nations.   • "To you, Sovereign Grand Instructors General, we say this, that you may repeat it to the Brethren of the 32nd, 31st and 30th degrees: 'the Masonic Religion should be, by all of us initiates of the high degrees, maintained in the purity of the Luciferian Doctrine. . ."Albert Pike addressing the 23 Supreme Councils of the world on July 14, 1889
  • "The enthronement of the Fallen Archangel Lucifer was effected within the Roman Catholic Citadel on June 29, 1963; a fitting date for the historic promise about to be fulfilled.  As the principle agents of this Ceremonial well knew, Satanist tradition had long predicted that the time of the Prince would be ushered in at the moment when the Pope would take the name of the Apostle Paul.  That requirement -- the signal that the Availing Time had begun -- had been accomplished just eight days before with the election of the latest Peter-in-the-line [Pope John Paul II]" -- Windswept House; Father Malachi Martin, p 7. [WBSG NOTE:  Martin, when asked why he wrote the above book as fiction, stated that had he not listed it in the fiction section that he could have never gotten it published.  Martin is dead now and he never recanted the Luciferian Initiation (the sacrifice to satan) that the Catholic Church performed in 1963, which is written of in great detail in the above book.]
  • Pike designed a plan for world conquest and wrote of it in a letter to Mazzini dated August 15, 1871.  He said three future world wars would prepare the world for the New World Order.  In the third world war "we shall unleash the Nihilists and atheists, and we shall provoke a formidable social cataclysm which in all its horror will show clearly to the nations the effect of absolute atheism, origin of savagery and of the most bloody turmoil.  Then everywhere, the citizens, obliged to defend themselves against the world minority of revolutionaries, will exterminate those destroyers of civilization, and the multitude, disillusioned with Christianity, whose deistic spirit will from that moment be without a compass (direction), anxious for an ideal, but without knowing where to render its adoration, will receive the pure light through the universal manifestation of the pure doctrine of Lucifer, brought finally out in the public view, a manifestation which will result from the general reactionary movement which will follow the destruction of Christianity and atheism, both conquered and exterminated at the same time."  -- FOURTH REICH OF THE RICH, 71-72, Des Griffin,(1989).
[This theme may also be found in the UN's Earth Charter.]
  • Cabalah goes beyond mere secret communication.  Supposedly, it thrusts the sender "into direct contact with the living powers and forces of the Universe, and through them with the eternal source of all manifestation," explains Henrietta Bernstein in her Cabalah Primer. "In other words, you make contact with God."  To a cabalist gnostic illuminatus whose special knowledge has liberated him from the clutch of matter and is speeding him toward the pure light of godliness, cabalah is "the royal art, a closed body of knowledge sacred to the elect." -- Cabalah Primer; Henrietta Bernstein  [WBSG NOTE:  This is the hidden foundation of the blasphemous doctrine contained in the "Tabernacle Studies" which we expose in our study at Anatomy of a False Doctrine.  In other words, it has Cabbala (Occult Jewish Mysticism) at it's root!]
  • "...The king of the Jews must not be at the mercy of his passions, and especially of sensuality: on no side of his character must he give brute instincts power over his mind. Sensuality worse than all else disorganizes the capacities of the mind and clearness of views, distracting the thoughts to the worst and most brutal side of human activity.  The prop of humanity in the person of the supreme lord of all the world of the holy seed of David must sacrifice to his people all personal inclinations. Our supreme lord must be of an exemplary irreproachability." -- Protocol # 24; Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion.  [WBSG NOTE:  Gee, where have we seen this before?  Compare the bold text in the above with the Scripture below.  The awaited King of the Jews is the antichrist!]
  • "And the king [antichrist] shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.  Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all. -- The Holy Bible, Daniel 11:36-37 (KJV)
       Yes, as you might have guessed, the Great Tribulation shall be a very Kosher affair, if you know what I mean.  After reading the Bible and observing whom persecuted and killed the Prophets of the Old Testament, the Apostles of the New Testament, Jesus Christ even, can it really have been any other way than that these same shall persecute the end-time Saints and Prophets?   In the Gospels Jesus tells us who would persecute both the early church and the end-time church.  Why is it that Christians today have blinders on?  I know, I know, Political Correctness; being P.C. seems to mean more to the end-time Christian than God's Word does.  Like I said, the end-time church is to become the enemy of God, not His planting.  How far are they really now from being that?
       Now most of these New Ager's were never Christians to begin with.  They are mostly adherents to the Eastern Philosophies.  Hinduism, Buddhism, etc., finds great agreement with the the New Age Religion.  But we shall from now on primarily focus on those who claim to be Christians and yet follow New Age type "spirituality" doctrines.
       As we stated in the prior study Once saved, always saved-are you so sure? there are some today, who once claimed to be Christians, even claiming to be God's end-time Elect that have been seduced by a variant of the New Age religion/doctrine.  This is covered deeper in another study on our site at Anatomy of a False Doctrine with excerpts from their own literature - shocking!  If I hadn't been personally handed the literature (which I have  posted facsimiles of in the study) I might not have believed that these people (supposedly Christians who even call themselves God's end-time Elect) are actually involved in something so spiritually vile and blasphemous.
       Regarding those two above studies, I wonder if people got the message.
Regarding Once saved, always saved-are you so sure?: The question really isn't that if you are once saved then are you always saved, for you are eternally saved once you are saved (John 3:16), but rather the question is whether or not that individual person was ever saved in the first place, were they ever really a true Christian?  That is the question.
And regarding Anatomy of a False Doctrine: It is not whether or not the Elect of God can be deceived by antichrist (for they cannot (Matt 24:24)), it is whether or not that individual person was ever the Elect of God in the first place, maybe they were 'simply' a Christian in good standing and not an end-time servant as they supposed.  That is the question.
       This is something that never occurred to those who now transgress with their blasphemous New Age doctrines.  It has occurred to Jesus, though; and it sure is going to 'occur' to them at the Second Advent:
Matt 7:20-23
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. (KJV)
       The above people called themselves Christians, they refer to Jesus as "Lord, Lord," they presumed to "have we not prophesied," "have cast out devils," "done many wonderful works" in God's name, but they were not acting under God's orders, but satan's.  Their power came not of God but of satan.  This is the end-time church.
       And make no mistake about it, these people are going to hell, for the narrative begins with "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven."  What is the alternative to spending eternity in the Kingdom of Heaven?  You know.  And Jesus makes a further declaration of them "I never knew you."  He also labels their works of "have we not prophesied," "have cast out devils," "done many wonderful works" as "ye that work iniquity".
       When you read the above Scripture (Matt 7:20-23) do you see Christians or play-actors?  Do you see Christians or antichristians?  For if you label them as Christians then you charge Jesus with error, but if you label them as some kind of end-time perversion of Christianity, a false New Age 'psuedo-Christianity' which is not Christian at all, then you see the wisdom and fairness of God.
       Sure they know the Scriptures, for they "prophesied," surely they knew good from evil for they "have cast out devils," sure they appeared charitable for they had "done many wonderful works," but they were all an illusion, all a ruse; what they did was not in Christ's name, it was not of God.  Now maybe you can understand how "all the world wondered after the beast" (Rev 13:3), and how "they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast," (Rev 13:4).
       Have you ever had the displeasure of witnessing the beguiled babbling in church "talking in tongues?"  Have you ever had to watch them get knocked over by some demonic force "slain in the spirit?"  or how about the latest bestial perversion in the churches: "Barking and Howling in the spirit" while rolling on the floor drooling from the mouth?  Yes, they do this, in church even!  Friends, I couldn't make this stuff up, my mind can't even operate that way, See their own testimonials
       What the hell is wrong with these people?  Or have you ever watched them fall to their knees worshipping before images of Mother Mary?  Wafting incense to the Queen of Heaven and dead people made Saints by an apostate church?  Have you heard of the elected Homosexual Bishop, chosen by majority vote of that whole damned denomination?  Satan is in most of the churches already, friend.  And it is high time that true Christians started cleaning their own house, quit apologizing for them or turning the other way pretending not to see, and bring the Scriptures to bear against their spiritual depravity.  This isn't so-called "judging" them (that's just what people say so you don't bother them about their actions), it is helping them, it is reproving them with the Scriptures which we are told to do:
2 Tim 3:16-17
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.  (KJV)
2 Tim 4:2-5
2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.  (KJV)
Eph 5:11-13
11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
12 For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.
13 But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.  (KJV)
       You know how hard Apostle Paul was on the early church when they began to go astray, we read of it in the Pauline Epistles; well I really think that Apostle Paul would have a massive heart attack if God brought him to visit the churches today.  And Jesus took a whip to the money-changers backs; what, pray tell, would He do if he stepped foot inside one of these modern-day spiritual houses of harlotry that call themselves Christian Churches!  We shall all find out at the Second Advent, and it isn't going to be pretty; He is going to kill a whole lot of them.
       People wonder why they cannot find "the Church" in the book of Revelation; based on this, the Rapturists dream of escapism; but you do read of the churches in the book of Revelation!  It will be wholly (except for those people God seals) given over to the other side during the Tribulation.
       Below is the world, it is the one-world system of antichrist in operation on the earth during the Tribulation; the whole world blasphemes God!  Today Christians (so-called self-claimed) make up one-third of the planets inhabitants (that's over 2.1 billion souls).  I don't see them in the below Revelation Scriptures fighting and winning the good fight.  Why?  Because they had become the enemy!  Why do you think that Jesus is coming to kill on the Earth?  I mean Jesus is all about love, right?  Well He is coming back to a world that has forsaken Him.  Read the book of Revelation (all you sugar-sweet luke-warm play-Christians -- you know who you are), Jesus isn't coming back with flowers and candy to an obedient and faithful church, He is coming back to a world ripe for purging, deserving only of death for their blasphemies - starting at the Temple!
Rev 13:5-6
5 And there was given unto him
[first beast - the NWO] a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him [first beast - the NWO] to continue forty and two months.
6 And he
[first beast - the NWO] opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.  (KJV)
Some resist and remain true to their One True God; they are overcome (killed):
Rev 13:7
7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.  (KJV)
       Do not suppose that the "Saints" in the above are the end-time Church, hardly!  But rather the corrupt end-time church persecutes the true Saints of God, just like the corrupt Catholic Church persecuted the Protestant Saints during the ungodly Inquisition.  Here is a hard fact for you that you won't be hearing in any of the watered-down denominations today: The Catholic Church burned (literally) more Christians than the Pagan Roman Empire (See The History of Christianity).  Many errantly suppose that the end-time Mystery Babylon will be the Catholic Church and that the reigning Pope will be the antichrist.  They are wrong, however they were perfect mirror-image types.
       Mystery Babylon shall be the world, the whore shall be the end-time New Age church system, the great city (which reigneth over the kings...) shall be Jerusalem, and the antichrist shall be the devil satan.
Rev 13:8
8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him
[first beast - the NWO], whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. (KJV)
       Only God's Elect who He has and will seal shall resist the great apostasy of the end times.  This would be the subject of another study another day.  (There is indication in the Scriptures that some shall be Divinely protected during this time and shall therefore not be participating in the great apostasy.  We will cover that in the forthcoming study: Scriptural Evidences That Christians Shall Die In The Great Tribulation )
       "Oh but that is preposterous, the Christian churches would never backslide so far as to become the enemy of God and the murderers of His Saints," you say?  Hmmm..., you must have your closed eyes wide shut; just look at what goes on in these churches today!  But would you find it easier to fathom if you knew that it happened once before?  You know, like the Scripture says, things happen again:
Eccl 1:9-11
9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
10 Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us.
11 There is no remembrance of former things; neither shall there be any remembrance of things that are to come with those that shall come after.  (KJV)
       "There is no remembrance of former things," do YOU remember the former things???  Do you know the following facts, Christian?  If not, then you have just fulfilled the above prophecy.  Not a good feeling, huh?
       At one time there was only Christian Church, there was not Catholic, Protestant, Pentecostal, etc., there was just the Christian religion (referred after Christ's departing as "That way" (Acts 19:9, 19:23, 24:22) , and then later "Christian" (Acts 11:26, 26:28)), as opposed to the Mohammedan religion (Islam) and the religion of the Jews (Judaism, Talmudism - NOT the O.T. religion of the Hebrews! - that's another study for another day, don't even get me started on that).
       Well, that one Christian religion became corrupted.  So vile had it become that God Himself had to spark the reformation (Luther's split from Catholicism paving the way for the PROTESTant denominations.  The Orthodox Church splintered off from Catholicism some several centuries earlier in approx 1000 A.D.).  Below are the words of one who wrote at a time before the Catholic Church had fully covered-up her sin and error (J.A. Wylie, LL.D., History of the Papacy, 1851).  Today we (most Christians) are ignorant to the great degradation, apostasy, intrigue, and murder that the early Catholic Church Universal slipped into.  And yes, Virginia, it can happen again.  Indeed it shall happen again, as God so charitably outlined it's fall in the book of Revelation for us.  For a second witness and documentation to the above statements see the three-part series The History of Christianity.
The first fall of the Christian Church as found in History of the Papacy:
  ...the Church (so-called) of Rome has no right to rank amongst Christian Churches. She is not a Church, neither is her religion the Christian religion. We are accustomed to speak of Popery as a corrupt form of Christianity. We concede too much.
       The Church of Rome bears the same relation to the Church of Christ which the hierarchy of Baal bore to the institute of Moses; and Popery stands related to Christianity only in the same way in which Paganism stood related to primeval Revelation.
       Popery is not a corruption simply, but a transformation. It may be difficult to fix the time when it passed from the one into the other; but the change is incontestable. Popery is the gospel transubstantiated into the flesh and blood of Paganism, under a few of the accidents of Christianity.
-- J.A. Wylie, LL.D., History of the Papacy, 1851.
Conclusions; what is THAT sin today?
To top
         Ok, time to document that those, who once considered themselves Christian, who then go on into the New Age spiritualistic type doctrines wherein they feel that they can become higher spiritual beings (gods) have committed the Unforgivable Sin.
       The Scripture that gives us the closest look at this Unforgivable Sin is , for it describes it quite clearly:
Mark 3:22-30
22 And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He
[jesus] hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils.
....(Cont.)
28 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:
29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation:
30 Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit.  (KJV)
        The sin in the above Scripture was not that they insulted Jesus, but that they insulted the Holy Spirit by calling it an unclean spirit.  Below we see that blasphemy against the Son of Man (remember the difference between Son of Man and Son of God) is forgivable, however, blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is not forgivable:
Luke 12:10
10 And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven. (KJV)
       Jesus wasn't saying that it was Ok to blaspheme Him, He was saying that it was forgivable to blaspheme Him while He was here in the flesh.  Jesus, the Son of Man was born flesh, He was God but in a 'lower state', for the Scriptures tell us so: "But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death...." (Heb 2:9).
       The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of the Lord God, to blaspheme that Holy Spirit was to blaspheme God Himself.  To blaspheme Jesus Christ was to blaspheme God in the flesh.
       But that after He ascended, and the Holy Spirit was sent to 'replace' Him, such blasphemy against Him (Holy Spirit) was unforgivable.
       What is blasphemy?  Bible Dictionaries will tell you that it is to insult God.  The Scriptures tell us something different [edited for clarification: i.e., something additional].  Observe:
John 10:36
36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?  (KJV)
John 5:18
18 Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.  (KJV)
John 10:30-33
30 I and my Father are one.
31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.
32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?
33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.  (KJV)
Phil 2:5-6
5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:  (KJV)
       The Jews charged Jesus with blasphemy because He said that He was God, He said the He was equal with God.  And had Jesus not been God in the flesh then the Jews would have been right to charge Him with blasphemy.  But Jesus was God so He was not committing blasphemy by equaling Himself to God.  This was the great error of the Jews, they did not accept Jesus for who He was, Immanuel — God with us, though their own Scriptures prophesied of Him.
       What the Tabernacle Studies state, is that these people can become gods, can become as Jesus, can possess the Holy Spirit, for it is their Spirit, they think.  This is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.  Think that I exaggerate their position?  Read below for yourself and decide.
       Below are some other direct quotes from their own literature found in our study at Anatomy of a False Doctrine :  remember, those who follow the below study and believe in it's dogmas and doctrine were people who once called themselves Christian (they probably still do).  If only they knew the depths of Hell that they are descending with this New Age doctrine of theirs.  I write this present Bible study about the unforgivable sin that I may perhaps reach even one of them, maybe a newer initiate to the New Age doctrine below, who is not too far gone to pull out and repent:
 !!!CAUTION BLASPHEMOUS FALSE DOCTRINE!!!!
The Tabernacle study is: STATEMENT #2:
"A teaching illustration in Pageant form, for the development of a Priesthood who will naturally express the likeness of God."
The Tabernacle study is: STATEMENT #3:
"The designed mechanism for the transfer of the Kingdom of Heaven to the Earth.  Portrays the transformation of the lustful flesh into a visible Spirit, a Christ person."
The Tabernacle study is: STATEMENT #6:
"God's formula for the birthing of His "Manchild.""
!!!CAUTION BLASPHEMOUS FALSE DOCTRINE!!!!
"
Our goal for this study is to share patterns in the Tabernacle which will be keys for your progression, step by step, discovery of how to Be [capitalized and underlined in the original] all that you are pre-programmed to Be [capitalized and underlined in the original] in the spirit of "Christ in you" Anointing."
WBSG NOTE:  The use of the underlined and capitalized word "Be" here has strong overt reference to God's name, The I AM. (you will see the Sacred name I AM in other places here in their literature, watch for it)  Observe the definition below in light of the context of the use of the word "Be" in the above:
Exod 3:14
14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. (KJV)
I AM:  Hebrew word #1961 hayah (haw-yaw); a primitive root [compare 1933]; to exist, i.e. be or become, come to pass (always emphatic, and not a mere copula or auxiliary): KJV-- beacon, X altogether, be (-come), accomplished, committed, like), break, cause, come (to pass), do, faint, fall, + follow, happen, X have, last, pertain, quit (oneself-), require, X use.
!!!CAUTION BLASPHEMOUS FALSE DOCTRINE!!!!
"We will focus on the Tabernacle as a parable, (Hebrews 9:9). The hidden truths will help you, in the Anointing to discover the goal of "Manchild". The "Manchild" is a mature Son who portrays the attributes of his Heavenly Father."
WBSG NOTE:  The Manchild was Jesus Christ who now sits on His throne in Heaven!  Understand that they are saying that they can become a Jesus Christ!
Rev 12:5
5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne. (KJV)
EXCERPTED FROM: The Tabernacle: The Altar (practical Application) page 3:
"Then say to yourself, "Oh, thank you Lord for releasing me from human, fleshly insecurity and inferiority. Thank you for giving to me your confident righteousness. Thank you for helping me to discover who I Am, who I really Am."
WBSG NOTE:  This one of the places that I mentioned where you shall see the Sacred name I AM used for themselves.  Let's remember who the only I AM is:
Exod 3:14
14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. (KJV)
!!!CAUTION BLASPHEMOUS FALSE DOCTRINE!!!!
EXCERPTED FROM: The Tabernacle: The Altar (practical Application) page 3:
"The Altar (the cross) is the place where you go and by faith, with Jesus, detach yourself from the human flesh related weaknesses and appropriate the strengths of the anointed Christ in your Spirit."
WBSG NOTE:  The capitalization of the word Spirit means Holy Spirit.  They are calling their spirit the Holy Spirit.  But people have lesser spirit than God's Holy Spirit. This alone qualifies them for the unforgivable sin of blasphemy against the Holy Ghost (Spirit):
Mark 3:28-30
28 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:
29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation:
30 Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit. (KJV)
Below is more of their 'work' with the Holy Spirit.
!!!CAUTION BLASPHEMOUS FALSE DOCTRINE!!!!
EXCERPTED FROM: The Tabernacle: The Altar (practical Application) page 3:
"This is the way life will come forth out of death. We can no longer be double-minded. We must decide to be Spirit absolutely. The Spirit of the Anointing of Christ must be your Anointed Life. That's how the Word (Christ) becomes manifested flesh."
WBSG NOTE:  Jesus Christ was anointed with the Holy Spirit.  Can you see the magnitude of what they are claiming for themselves in the above!
Matt 12:15-18
15 But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;
16 And charged them that they should not make him known:
17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,
18 Behold my servant
[Jesus Christ], whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles. (KJV)
EXCERPTED FROM: The Tabernacle: Introduction to lesson 3- The Altar page 1:
"The Altar announced the promise of an elevated consciousness out of the mundane into the excitement of spiritual creative power...into oneness with the Creator...into (Huios) mature Sonship."
EXCERPTED FROM: The Tabernacle: Introduction to lesson 3- The Altar page 2:
"Jesus was given a Name. And you should know that in Hebrew and Greek the word NAME signifies "Character or Nature." Praying in the Nature and Character of Jesus is a world of difference on opening or closing a prayer, in Jesus name." Oh WOW! Do you understand why He could boldly say, "Whatso-ever you ask the Father in my Name [Nature] He will do it?" You can pray in/as His Nature because you and He are One."
WBSG NOTE:  "Oh WOW!" they said.  Yeah, "Oh WOW!" they just likened themselves on the same level as the Son of God Jesus Christ.  Amazing brazen blasphemy!  only a wholly spiritually corrupted person could make these vulgar statements.  Satan is roosting in the author of these studies, and leeches out onto all who follow them.
 !!!CAUTION BLASPHEMOUS FALSE DOCTRINE!!!!
EXCERPTED FROM: The Tabernacle: The Anointing (Christ) page 1:
"Do you see? It was the LORD God's intended purpose for the Nation [WBSG Note: 'Nation' underlined and capitalized in the original] to be Anointed Priests. This foundational truth is most important in preparation for a working understanding of The Christ being a Corporate Body; and how "Christ in every Believer" becomes a "Nation" of Priests."
WBSG NOTE:  Here they in effect deny Jesus Christ by saying that The Christ is a Corporate Body (a group of people).  Talking like that is another fast way to hell.
!!!CAUTION BLASPHEMOUS FALSE DOCTRINE!!!!
EXCERPTED FROM: The Tabernacle: The Anointing (Christ) page 8 &9:
"The Christ is Your Anointing. [WBSG Note: 'Your' is underlined in the original] Jesus, The Christ, being the image of the Father God on the earth boldly said, "He that has seen Me has seen the Father." The Christ is the Anointing or impartation the Father God has given to make known His Life (His Glory). The Christ in you is the Father God's Authorization to express His Life and is enacted by His Spirit BE-ING what He WAS, and IS, and WILL BE - The resurrection and the Life in and through you."
"The Father God makes known His Life (His Glory) within us in Christ, the Anointing, The Extended Revelation of Himself, experienced by the mystery of BE-LIVING."
"The Anointing is the Divine Authority to live and give physical expression to the Father's Life, i.e. to be His Image."
"OUR GOAL: Obadiah 1:21, "Saviours [plural] shall come up on Mount Zion to judge the Mount of Essau, and the Kingdom shall be the Lord's." [WBSG Note: the word 'Saviours' is NOT capitalized in the Bible!, it has no Definite Article!]
So we strive "toward the mark [the goal] for the prize of the high calling [Saviours] of God in Christ Jesus" (Phil. 3:14).
" [WBSG Note: the above bracketed words 'plural', 'the goal', and 'Saviours' are in the original]
"Jesus (Ye-shua) is the visible expression of Yehway's Life; Yehway's Life is defined as Salvation (Shua). Ye (Yehway) - Shua (Salvation). Yeshua, Jesus in the English, is God's definition of HIS Covenant Life expressed physically. We are the physical Body of Christ through which His Word becomes flesh."
"His Goal: That His Word become flesh and dwell (Tabernacle) on the earth. When, in His Time, we attain to that maturity, His Kingdom will have come on earth, as it is in Heaven."
EXCERPTED FROM: The Tabernacle: The Table of Shewbread page 4:
"Surely, saith Jesus, I come quickly. Even so, come quickly, through us, Lord Jesus" (Rev 22:20 paraphrase)." [WBSG Note: the underlining of 'through us' is in the original!]
WBSG Note: What do we say about this blasphemous perversion of Scripture?!?  Perhaps it is just best to supply the correct version of Rev 22:20.  You will notice that they added "through us" to their paraphrase of the Scripture.
Rev 22:20
20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. (KJV)
RECAP
Probably the most blasphemous statement against God was:
EXCERPTED FROM: The Tabernacle: The Altar (practical Application) page 3:
"Then say to yourself, "Oh, thank you Lord for releasing me from human, fleshly insecurity and inferiority. Thank you for giving to me your confident righteousness. Thank you for helping me to discover who I Am, who I really Am.
And the statement that most qualifies them for committing the unforgivable sin against the Holy Spirit would be:
EXCERPTED FROM: The Tabernacle: The Altar (practical Application) page 3:
"The Altar (the cross) is the place where you go and by faith, with Jesus, detach yourself from the human flesh related weaknesses and appropriate the strengths of the anointed Christ in your Spirit."
"This is the way life will come forth out of death. We can no longer be double-minded. We must decide to be Spirit absolutely. The Spirit of the Anointing of Christ must be your Anointed Life. That's how the Word (Christ) becomes manifested flesh."
       I am at a total loss for an answer as to how any true Christian could be taken-in by such false and blasphemous doctrine.  Perhaps they never really were Christian to begin with - I don't know.  But these people WERE deep Bible students, I personally knew some of them, they appeared Christian before this doctrine transformed them into something giving off the feeling of an evil spirit's presence.  They even once thought of themselves as one of God's Elect.  Now they are playing God and Anointed Ones!
       I guess vanity, ego, and pride allowed them to take it one step further into blasphemy.  That is what happened to Lucifer, he thought to himself become God.  How far away are the above false doctrines from that?   I don't see them being too far away from that all.  (And the above info is at least four years old, God knows where they are at now!)
       And these are not the deepest teaching that they have (my guess is that the highest level is only orally transmitted and not put to paper — for obvious reasons — they don't want it exposed on Websites like this), they were just the highest level teachings that I was able to get hard copies of.  I can only but shudder at how much further they go!
Does anyone want to send me some anonymously?  I would also be very interested in [the very large man's] new "Zadok" doctrine to do a comprehensive Scriptural analysis of it.  My understanding is that many from 'coast to coast' are being drawn into it.  Contact me anonymously at Contact Editor (I don't use names for my sources — or, just get the material to me under a pseudonym, your name is unimportant if you have hard copies to pass on.)
       I used to be on [the very large man's] mailing list until I posted the Tabernacle Study exposition (Anatomy of a False Doctrine) a few years ago.  I am no longer on his mailing list.  Is this a witch hunt?  No, I never used names, I defamed no man by name,  I only addressed the false doctrine with the revealing light of the Scriptures.  I did this to help others who I saw being sucked into the sinful doctrine.
       I fear that a new second wave of this New Age doctrine is developing.  And if per chance [the very large man] sees this and feels that his new doctrine can stand the Gospel light, then he can send me the complete doctrine and will compare it to Scripture.  If I have heard wrong about this doctrine then I will retract this paragraph and issue any apology meet.  I feel that that is fair. You see, like those of the Tabernacle Studies, I also once knew [the very large man].
       So, those who are disciples of this New Age doctrine, will they go to Hell?  I don't know; they won't be forgiven, that much is clear from the Scriptures as I see it, though man is not permitted to judge man.  But I certainly wouldn't want to try it out myself to find out.  My personal feeling on the matter is that their best hope is that they are merely the ones hiding from God in the rocks: "And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:   For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?" (Rev 6:16-17).  That's their 'best case' scenario as I see it.  Saying any more would be to judge, and we are not permitted to judge souls, only God and His Christ Jesus has that authority.
       I wrote these three studies to warn you all  (Anatomy of a False Doctrine, Once saved, always saved-are you so sure?, The Unforgivable Sin).  I wrote them because I know that many newer students are easily led astray by a 'wise' deceiver.  Eve was led astray by a wise deceiver then she led her own husband astray; how many of the New Ager's are themselves deceived and then drag their own friends and loved ones down with them!
       Stay in God's Word.  Stay away from the so-called deeper studies until you are strong enough in the Word to compare them accurately with the Scriptures.  This is definitely not something a newer student should try to debunk; you will end up getting sucked into the vortex.
       And these so-called New Age doctrines aren't really deep as much as they are mystical; they are esoteric and occultic.  If someone tries to teach you something that seems bizarre, guess what?  It probably is bizarre!  Trust your gut feeling; most times, with prayer, it is God trying to warn you.  And remember, always check everything out in your Bible - everything!  Everything I say, everything the TV Ministers say, everything your Pastor says, everything from every source must align with the Bible.  Sure there are going to be minor Scriptural disagreements, I don't speak of them, we will always have them, I don't even really speak of prophecy interpretations because they are many and not directly affecting on the salvation issues; I speak of foundational doctrines that can affect the salvation of a child of God.  Bullinger believed in a Rapture doctrine, but you never heard me call him a false teacher, for he was not a false teacher, he was simply just wrong on the prophecy (and he really didn't teach it, it is just found in some of his lesser works).  But this is not what I refer to.
       I speak of major doctrines, if what 'they' say goes against the Bible then 'they' go against God, and if it goes against God you don't want any part of it, friend.  May God bless and protect you.  Stay in sound doctrine.
2 Pet 2:1-3
1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.  (KJV)
       Don't run the race and then at the last lap jump yourself over the cliff.  Stay in sound Biblical doctrine!
Watchman News hosts several archives of Bible studies such as these by the Watchmen Bible Study Group. Although we are not affiliated with this or numerous others using the term Watchman in their names, we believe it important keep the full content intact for research and analysis for Bible students of future generations. We keep it available as good members of the body of Christ, for Christian unity. We do so on a non-profit basis. As the original owner's site went offline years ago, no one has paid to keep it online but us.
