A Catholic asks about his clergy's title regarding Matt 23:9 "And call no man your father...."

...I was reading Matthew chapter 24, and it gets in to depth about false teachers and the end of the world.  Are some of the religions today considered false teachers, ie catholicism?  Also I forgot where but the Bible says that no one should call anyone father on earth for there is one father in heaven.  I know he isn't talking about parents, but what about priests?  It also sounds pretty confusing, Jesus makes it sound like right before the end many people will be deceived. Even devoted Christians.  As trivial or cliche as it may sound, how can a Christian make sure he isn't deceived?

     It is not any "server error," it is deliberate censorship (and another lie) by the Judaics in control of AOL!  Now copy the same URL into FireFox's or Internet Explorer's browser and you get the article.  Censorship on the Internet in America isn't coming in the future, It's already begun.  Even the popular GOOGLE.COM search engine was co-founded in 1998 by Sergey Brin, the son of a Jewish refuge from the former Soviet union.  Soon, GOOGLE will initiate massive pro-Judaic censoring (and already has begun so, to a small degree.  The same goes for WikiPedia free Encyclopedia that so many use; it was founded by two Judaics, and is now run by the remaining one (see below).  They routinely censor articles that make any mention of Judaic control apparatuses and world hegemony schemes.  The International Judaics are buying up all the internet-related companies, and thereby control the internet, world-wide.  It's easy when you've got all the money.

They Just Don't Know when to Stop

The Executive Council of Australian Jewry are once again trying to suppress Free Speech in Australia.  Just a few years ago, they were successful with putting Dr. Fredrick Toben behind bars for exposing Jewish propaganda surrounding the Holocaust.  They argued that it was "hate speech" to deny their propaganda surrounding fictitious claims, focusing on imaginary "homicidal gas chambers" that only ignorant people on Prozac believe, though some liars and political plutocrats feign belief. 

I guess Australian Jews feel somewhat left out, as their cousins in Europe are so busy locking up David Irving, Siegfried Verbeke, Ernst Zundel, Germar Rudolf, etc., that they too feel they must turn the keys on some Gentiles who dare to defy them.  "Yes, let's imprison all who dare to defy us!" the Jews seemingly proclaim to the world.

Now, Jews are trying to send Rev. Anthony Grigor-Scott [of Bible Believer's Church, Australia] to jail for similar crimes as Dr. Toben.  Rev. Grigor-Scott writes:

"For twelve years the Australian B’nai B’rith and their ADC, the equivalent of the ADL in the States, have falsely persecuted and defamed my Church and I through the national media on religious pretexts. . . .

"We have always 'turned the other cheek.' However, for the past two years they have taken their attack to the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission on racial grounds, as they cannot prosecute us through the courts on the basis of religion.

"Since last August, we have been back and forth before the Federal Court of Australia."

Sure--why not pick a reverend to torment?  If you've ever opened up the Bible and read the Book of John, you realize that it says some rather unsavory things about Jews.  Indeed, much of the Bible says similar things as well, referring to the "Synagogue of Satan" and people fearing Jews.  So it should come as no surprise that Jews were offended by Rev. Grigor-Scott, a Christian.  First, they get Rev. Grigor-Scott, then Jews can use that as a precedent to lock-up any Christian who dares to defy them.  After all, isn't the Bible "hate speech," according to Jews?  Pastors in Canada are already being locked up on similar laws, so why stop there?

If you've ever wondered how utterly ruthless and hateful Jews can be when they think that they have the upper-hand, using catch-phrases and evoking sympathy and pity while on the attack, please take a look at this diatribe of theirs below. 

Of course, at the conclusion, they say that they merely want an "apology," not that they deserve it, and the material that bothers them removed; however, in reality, this is the same train-of-thought that they used when they persecuted Dr. Toben for his thought-crimes, which led to his imprisonment for about a year.  They come in and feign dignity yet engage in ruthless, underhanded, hateful measures to suppress any who recognize their propaganda-filled lies.

You will see how they work, trying to erode Free Speech and send anyone to jail who dares to defy them.  Don't believe them for a minute that they merely want an "apology"; look at what happened to Dr. Toben.  Why should he lose his job and spend a year in jail for these ridiculous thought-crimes?  And why should Olga Scully, Rev. Scott, and others suffer similarly?

Jews say that Rev. Grigor-Scott's website "offends, insults, humiliates, and intimidates Jewish Australians."  Well, I think that's just too bad. 

When I was but a child, I heard a rhyme that Jews might heed:

"Sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me."

Still, I suppose the mighty "Executive Council of Australian Jewry" feels as if it's somehow special.  After all, aren't they supposed to be God's Chosen Race?  Who knows why they think that they can just go around like some sort of arrogant lords and tell us "lowly" non-Jews what we can and can't say.  They're just a little better than the rest of us--aren't they?

Yes, it's OK if you're a Jewish editor and publish jokes about Muslims.  But, if you're not a Jew, you better keep your mouth shut when it comes to Jews--they say.  Ask the cartoonist Robert Edwards who had to spend a year in jail for making cartoons about Jews. 

These Jews just won't stop; they're like the Energizer Bunny on crack.  If people don't like Jews, perhaps Jews should take a moment and ask, "Why?" 

Of course, they never realize that their own actions are what really annoy people, doing things like this and putting others in jails for their thoughts; it seems that Jews forever live in a paranoid-state of mind and somehow believe that no one likes them for no good reason--just "blind hatred," they argue.

Now, logically, since laws are in effect in Australia to outlaw "hate," the Jews' Talmud should be outlawed; and their synagogues should be monitored by the Thought Police.  After all, the Jews' Babylonian Talmud is indeed a vile, supremacist, hate-filled jeremiad. 

If you search the works of the KKK, the Nation of Islam, the National Council of La Raza, the World Creativity Movement--the most anti-Semitic works wherever they may be--you won't find any work as hateful and mean-spirited as the Jews' Talmud. 

Of course, for merely recognizing the fact--and it is a fact that cannot be debated--Jews will of course come back and call me the "hater."  According to Jewish-logic, if you expose their hatred, then you're a "hater."  Typical nonsense.  But you expect so much from these Jewish supremacists nowadays, always whining and complaining about something, lamenting to the world that they're some sort of Chosen Race akin to God Himself and that to argue otherwise makes one an "anti-Semite." 

But it is the truth.  The Jewish Talmud is vehemently anti-Gentile.  The Jews' Talmud says that Mary is a "harlot," and that Christians "inherit hell."  The Jews' jeremiad then promulgates that Jesus is boiling in "hot semen" (their disgusting, hate-filled words, not mine).  The Jews' Talmud says that they can just leave Gentiles in a big pit to die, if it so pleases them.  Their Talmud says it's OK to cheat Gentiles.  That hate-filled jeremiad known as the Babylonian Talmud also has an area referred to as Kol Nidre, in which it says all future vows are null and void in the forthcoming year with Gentiles--a statement that they recite every year, in their minds giving them tacit approval to rip Gentiles off at jewelry stores, or wherever Jews might be in large masses--and perhaps helping to explain the mentality of 1,000-percent mark-up that is so prevalent among jewelers.  It states that if a non-Jew kills a Jew, then he gets death; if a Jew kills a non-Jew, no death.  Keep in mind that these same laws, these Jewish Oral Laws, also govern Israel.  The Jews' Talmud even says, "The best among Gentiles deserves to be killed."  Talk about hate!  And, not only that, the Talmud is disgusting and promotes pedophilia; it says that it's OK for Jews to "mess around" with a three-year-old, and it says that in more than one spot.  I only wish I was making up this stuff; I only wish.

Indeed, it seems that Jews often pretend to be persecuted; but, while moaning and groaning about this imaginary persecution, they concurrently and secretly work to suppress anyone who recognizes their hateful ways.  In some cases, it has been demonstrated, Jews even commit bogus "hate crimes" against themselves in an effort to elicit sympathy, to get laws to "protect" them against the fictitious "haters," and, of course, to raise significant funds that Jews can use to further suppress any dissent--often using such money to get their way through the plutocratic-process.

Take a look at the letter the Australian Jews sent directly below, as it illustrates their mentality perfectly--that people who oppose them or say things that they don't like should be sent to jail. 

Well, they say things I don't like, so perhaps they should go to jail? 

Oh, there I go again, forgetting that they're the self-proclaimed God's Master Race and are therefore above all that.

...Meanwhile, just when you thought Judaic supremacy couldn't get any more
surreal ...along comes news that Ken Livingstone, the Mayor of London,
has been suspended from office for four weeks "...for comparing a Jewish
reporter to a Nazi concentration camp guard."

The mayor refused to apologize to the reporter since the exchange with
journalist Oliver Finegold a year ago. A powerful Zionist organization,
the Board of Deputies of British "Jews," lodged an official complaint
that Mr. Livingstone had broken the ethical code of conduct covering his
office. The British government ruled that Mayor Livingstone had been
"unnecessarily insensitive and offensive" to Mr. Finegold. (Cf. "Court
Suspends London's Mayor for 4 Weeks," New York Times February 24, 2006).

We have been mindful for some years of the emergence of a caste of Holy
People with whom the normal give-and-take of rough and tumble political
discourse is no longer possible, and now their ego-inflation has reached
such stratospheric heights that the democratically-elected mayor of one
of the world's great cities loses his post for a month because he
slighted one of these Holy Personages.

Be mindful too, that this horrid little turn of mental midgetry is
perpetrated in the name of the Jews by a British "board of deputies"
(who's the sheriff?).  Since Thom Jefferson swore eternal hostility to
every form of tyranny over the mind of man, it would be a truly American
and quintessentially Jeffersonian act to feel hostility toward this
so-called "Board of Deputies of British Jews."

No matter how much the hate-sniffing squad of correct politics tries to
point an opposite finger in this case, every Jeffersonian in his or her
heart is going to feel hostility toward those who have tyrannized this
mayor (who is no angel by the way,  he once banned Prof. Tony Martin
from speaking at a London conference; but it is the principle which is
the issue, not "Red Ken" himself).

The suspension of the mayor for using strong language in an exchange
with Mr. Finegold, which, had similar invective been directed at the
rest of us mere plebes, we would have had to grin and bear it, surely
stirs some smoldering antipathy towards "Jews" in society at large.

But don't be gulled! Who says "Jews" in England are represented by this
"Board of Deputies" who speak in the name of "the Jews"? This is the
equivalent of a black ops campaign in which Zionists and Talmudists
front ever more outrageous Orwellian thought control against a Gentile
in the name of "the Jews." Why don't they call themselves the Board of
Deputies of British Talmudists, or Zionists?

The Board would then draw the resulting simmering hostility of the
Gentles toward Zionism and Judaism, rather than toward the Jews, whose
self-apponted spokesmen they are. Here we see the mechanism of "Jew
hate" concocted by Zionists and rabbis. So who are the actual "Jew
haters" and who is it that fuels so-called "anti-semitism"?

Don't be one of the robots. Be aware of this manipulative mechanism on
the part of people who are usually anything but Jews --Khazars,
Turko-Mongolians and mamzerut of every shade and hue--who seek to latch
on to the prestige of the name "Jew" to propel the hidden agenda of
their poisonous Talmudic-Hegelian-Zionist  ideology, in the name of the
Jews.

When others come along who actually do something positive for the
defense of the reputation of the Jews, like Prof. Norman Finkelstein or
the late Prof. Israel Shahak [both of whom were Judaics] , they are labeled a "Nazi
 collaborator" (that is the latest disgusting Zionist smear against Finkelstein's
mother), or in Shahak's case, accused by Talmudists of consorting with
neo-Nazis, even though it is the Zionists and the Talmudists who fulfill
a Nazi-like function by damaging the name of the Jews by associating
that name with intellectual tyranny.

Israeli-Gemany (or whatever one wishes to call a nation hostage to a
government whose spies helped the US military penetrate Iraq's defenses
at the start of Bush's invasion of Iraq ["German Intelligence Gave U.S.
Iraqi Defense Plan, Report Says," NY Times, Feb. 27, 2006], now has its
prosecutors working on an indictment charging Iranian President Mahmoud
Ahmadinejad with the "crime" of "Holocaust denial."

Zionist Ervin Eran Shahar filed the indictment against the Iranian
President on behalf of the Civil Coalition, a "civil rights" (whose
rights?) NGO active in Israel. The 56-page indictment was delivered to
the German Federal Prosecutors Office in Karlsruhe, Germany, on Feb. 21.
It charges that President Ahmadinejad has repeatedly expressed doubt
that six million Jews were killed by the Nazis during World War Two, a
crime in Germany punishable with up to five years in prison.

The President of Iran "should be investigated for inciting racial
hatred, defiling the dead and denying the Holocaust. He should also be
investigated according to international conventions and international
law for violating the rights of Jews to security, to life and to
freedom," the indictment says. The prosecutors office in Karlsruhe was
not immediately available for comment. The German prosecutors will have
to assess legal questions like jurisdiction, possible immunity from
prosecution and whether Ahmadinejad could be tried in absentia.

Although Ahmadinejad has not publicly "denied the Holocaust" on German
soil, Shahar argues in his indictment that there are firm legal grounds
for bringing charges in Germany. "In the case of the actual criminal
indictment - the crime as described is directly linked to Germany,
committed among others, against German nationals of Jewish descent -- so
it is expected that the Federal Prosecutor will decide to prosecute."

against Iranian leader," Feb. 22, 2006).

Finally, there is a call for the suppression of an anti-American,
anti-Zionist movie made in Turkey, "Valley of the Wolves,"  now showing
in German movie theaters among Turkish immigrants. Cinemaxx, one of
Germany's largest cinema chains, announced that it was withdrawing the
film. Bavaria's interior minister admitted last week that he had
dispatched intelligence service agents to cinemas showing the film to
"gauge" audience reaction and identify potential radicals. (cf. "Outcry
in Germany as anti-Semitic film sells out," Telegraph [UK], Feb. 26,
2008).

To paraphrase Samuel Johnson, "There mark what ills the revisionist’s

Answer:

Hello Xxxxxx.  You are drawing from two separate Scriptures which speaks of two different things; namely these: 1) Regarding our body being the temple of God; and, 2) Regarding body mutilation.  And the misinterpretation or misapplication of these two Scriptures has unnecessarily caused many Christians grief, sorrow, and shame over themselves.  Let's analyze the relevant Scriptures that you brought up.

Regarding our body being the temple of God

1 Corinthians 3:16-17
16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.  KJV

     First, may I point out that it says that "ye are the temple of God," not that your body is the temple.  A small point perhaps, but it feeds into the misunderstanding of the Scripture.  For, we are more than just our flesh bodies; and when we die our flesh bodies rot back into the elements that they were formed of in our mother's wombs and were nourished of in this life as we ate; and our spirit, our soul, returns to Heaven with God awaiting what comes next, individually.

     Pastors and teachers have taken the above Scripture and used it as a battering-ram to shame Christians for doing everything from smoking cigarettes, to drinking alcoholic beverages, to tattoos, to sexual sins, etc. etc. etc.  It has become kind of a "catch-all" verse for preachers to point to when they don't approve of what you are doing, and they can't find Scriptural admonishment for it anywhere else in the Bible.  In other words, they say that since you are temple of God, therefore anything that you do in your body that is not 100% holy and pure is an affront to God because of that.  Also, we have to determine what is―and what is not―a sin.  More on that later. 

     Now, all sin is an affront to God, but this Scripture is not speaking in that context.  And let's face it, none of us is worthy of God's Holy Spirit's presence within us; for it is written, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" (Rom 3:23).  So, in effect, even "the best" of us "defile the temple of God" (1 Cor 3:17a above), because that "all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" (Rom 3:23).  Nevertheless, though all mankind sins; through belief upon Jesus Christ, Christians (only) can receive forgiveness (remission) of sins.  Below is the "For all have sinned" Scripture in full context, including the remedy for sins past:

Back to our Scripture at hand; i.e.,

1 Corinthians 3:16-17
16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.  KJV

       First let's take the above Scripture and do as we should always do to insure that we are drawing the correct interpretation of God's words―read it in context with the entire statement.  Therefore, we shall begin that Scripture at the beginning of Paul's exhortation, and carry it all the way until Paul (by the Holy Spirit, I might add) moves on to another subject.  In doing this we can better understand the context in which any verse is meant in the Bible―by comparing it to the surrounding verses―which often adds to the interpretation and let us know what God was getting at in that particular verse/Scripture.  (Note: a "verse" is one paragraph (one numbered verse of a Scripture); a "Scripture" is two or more verses together.)

The above 1st Cor 3:16-17 Scripture in context:

1 Corinthians 3:1-17
3:1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual [beyond flesh―heavenly], but as unto carnal [flesh―earthly], even as unto babes in Christ.

[Jesus Christ said basically the same thing to Nicodemus:
John 3:9-12
9 Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?
10 Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?
11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.
12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?

2 I have fed you with milk [beginning teaching], and not with meat [deeper spiritual teachings]: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it [as Christ also observed in John 3:12 above], neither yet now are ye able.
3 For ye are yet carnal [not thinking beyond the bounds of your flesh, not thinking spiritual]: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?
4 For while one saith [speaking of the denominational divisions that had crept into the early church], I am of Paul [Paul's "denomination"]; and another, I am of Apollos [Apollos' "denomination"]; are ye not carnal?

8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one [both the evangelist and the deeper teacher work for the same God towards the same goal]: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.
9 For we are labourers together with God [i.e., have no divisions (no separate denominations that divide the body of Christianity (as we see in our day)]: ye are God's husbandry [planting and growth], ye are God's building.
10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder [God enabled Paul to skillfully build the early church], I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.

[Now, below is where Paul shows that he is speaking of spiritual defiling by the entering in of false doctrines, false gods, and false practices]

11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ [the church must never forget the foundation for which Christianity rests―Jesus Christ.  For, many heresies were entered into the early church (Gnosticism, false doctrines, mixing pagan practices with the holy ones, etc.), as there are many today].
12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is [God will sort it out, both the good and the bad].
14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.  KJV

     As you can see, there was not one "though shalt not commit murder, rape, incest, adultery, etc." in the above, only "envying, and strife, and divisions" (verse 3) which are sins of the spirit, sins in a man's heart, which were serving to destroy the building up of the early Christian church.  That is because sins of the flesh (adultery, murder, etc.) were not the kind of defilement that Paul was speaking of (though those things are still a sin―they just aren't the subject of the "temple of God" Scriptures).

     In the below, Jesus speaks about the difference between the types of defilements, one is the flesh, and the other comes from the heart, "out of the mouth": 

Matthew 15:7-11
7 Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,
8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
10 And he [Jesus] called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand:
11 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.  KJV

     Paul also mentions this "ye are the temple of God" in 2nd Corinthians, and further clarifies that it is spiritual defilement (through lack of belief, or belief in false gods and idols―anything that destroys God's true religion Christianity) that he speaks of, not flesh defilement (sins of the body):

2 Corinthians 6:14-18
14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; [here now comes the one great definition of the "ye are the temple of God" statement:] as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people [finally fully fulfilled in Rev 21:3].
17 Wherefore come out from among them [those bad ones in the above verses], and be ye separate [from them, and to God], saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.  KJV

Regarding body mutilation

     You asked of tattoos, earrings, and body mutilation (scarification, earlobe-hole enlarging, etc.).  I know that you drew from the below Scripture:

Leviticus 19:28
28 Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.  KJV

     But the above is not speaking of tattoos etc., in-and-of-themselves.  It is speaking of religious worship practiced through and by these things.  Observe the context in the above, wherein it stated "for the dead":

Leviticus 19:28
28 Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.  KJV

     What they were doing was (dead) ancestor worship (as is common today in Sub-Saharan Africa [Kwanza intrudes dangerously close to this]) and communing with the dead by make vowing gestures to them (cutting the flesh, marking the skin).  They were violating the below:

Deuteronomy 18:10-11
10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,
11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer [one who communes with the dead (spirits)] .  KJV

     By cutting themselves and printing marks upon themselves FOR THE DEAD, they were communing with the spirits of the deceased, which were really evil spirits, though they knew it not.

     Below, notice our verse in context with the larger Scripture.  And how that the below is definitely in the context of the occult:

Leviticus 19:26-31
26 Ye shall not eat any thing with the blood: neither shall ye use enchantment, nor observe times.
27 Ye shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard.
28 Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.
29 Do not prostitute thy daughter, to cause her to be a whore; lest the land fall to whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness. [they had temple prostitutes incorporated into worship rites (see verse below)]
30 Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the LORD.
31 Regard not them that have familiar spirits [evil spirits], neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God.  KJV

     In the English the above verse 28 is a little confusing; but observe how it reads in the Hebrew from the below picture of the Interlinear:

'Any cuttings for the dead not ye shall make in your flesh any marks nor print upon you.  I am the LORD.'

In other words, you shall not do any of these things as a token or offering to or for the dead.  Observe:

'Any cuttings for the dead not ye shall make in your flesh any marks nor print upon you.  I am the LORD.'

     Now, while there aren't any specific examples of tattoos in the Bible, we do see one of the other things mentioned in the above Scripture in Exodus 21.  We also see that it was by an edict of God that it be done, and certainly not offensive to Him:

Exodus 21:1-6
21:1 Now these are the judgments which thou shalt set before them.
2 If thou buy an Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve: and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing.
3 If he came in by himself, he shall go out by himself: if he were married, then his wife shall go out with him.
4 If his master have given him a wife, and she have born him sons or daughters; the wife and her children shall be her master's, and he shall go out by himself.
5 And if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free:
6 Then his master shall bring him unto the judges; he shall also bring him to the door, or unto the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an aul; and he shall serve him for ever.  KJV

     In other words, to pierce his ear.  The difference is that the above piercing was done as a token of willing servitude in the employ of a rich man.  It was not a vowing ritual to the dead.  In our Scripture below, observe that what we would call tattoos and scarification and piercings are all lumped together into one category:

Leviticus 19:28
28 Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.  KJV

     These things weren't necessarily bad in-and-of-themselves, but they became bad when they were done FOR THE DEAD.

     Below we see that the priests of God could not come near to a dead person, except if that dead person was a close relative.  There were cleanness rules regarding the Temple Servants, but that is not important to our point.  However, even though that for a relative they may break the command and come near to a corpse, they still could not mark themselves for the dead:

Leviticus 21:1-5
21:1 And the LORD said unto Moses, Speak unto the priests the sons of Aaron, and say unto them, There shall none be defiled for the dead among his people:
2 But for his kin, that is near unto him, that is, for his mother, and for his father, and for his son, and for his daughter, and for his brother,
3 And for his sister a virgin, that is nigh unto him, which hath had no husband; for her may he be defiled.
4 But he shall not defile himself, being a chief man among his people, to profane himself.
5 They shall not make baldness upon their head, neither shall they shave off the corner of their beard, nor make any cuttings in their flesh.  KJV

     The above carving and shaping of the hair and the cutting of the flesh were heathen practices that the heathen peoples around Israel would do in their idolatrous practices.  Israel was not to do these rituals:

Deuteronomy 14:1
14:1 Ye are the children of the LORD your God: ye shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for the dead.  KJV

     Below, we see God's prophet, Elijah, dealing with some of these idolatrous priests and peoples.  Observe how the heathen petitioned their (false) gods:

1 Kings 18:25-28
25 And Elijah said unto the prophets of Baal [Baal was the name of one of the false gods], Choose you one bullock for yourselves, and dress it first; for ye are many; and call on the name of your gods, but put no fire under.
26 And they took the bullock which was given them, and they dressed it, and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us. But there was no voice, nor any that answered. And they leaped upon the altar which was made.
27 And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked.
28 And they cried aloud, and cut themselves after their manner with knives and lancets, till the blood gushed out upon them.  KJV

     Of course, Baal never came because he doesn't exist, just like the Muslims Allah does not exist.  Below we see God pronounce His punishment upon the false-god-worshipping people of Moab; and therein we also see mention of their idolatrous practices which God shall cause to cease:

Jeremiah 48:35-38
35 Moreover I will cause to cease in Moab, saith the LORD, him that offereth in the high places [places of pagan and idolatrous worship], and him that burneth incense to his gods.
36 Therefore mine heart shall sound for Moab like pipes, and mine heart shall sound like pipes for the men of Kir-heres: because the riches that he hath gotten are perished.
37 For every head shall be bald, and every beard clipped: upon all the hands shall be cuttings, and upon the loins sackcloth.
38 There shall be lamentation generally upon all the housetops of Moab, and in the streets thereof: for I have broken Moab like a vessel wherein is no pleasure, saith the LORD.  KJV

Below, we see this ritual-cutting associated with demonic possession:

Mark 5:1-8
5:1 And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.
2 And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit [an evil spirit, this man was what we call "possessed"],
3 Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains:
4 Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him.
5 And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones.
6 But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him,
7 And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.
8 For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.  KJV

     On a side note; notice in verse seven above that the evil spirits knew exactly who Jesus Christ was.  Sadly, so many people today do not know Him.  In the below we see another form of marking that is associated with satan-worship in our endtimes:

Revelation 13:16-18
16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.  KJV

But this mark is not a tattoo, and all who take satan's mark shall be punished by God:

Revelation 14:9-10
9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:  KJV

And they shall be attacked by God:

Revelation 16:2
2 And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image.  KJV

And those who induce men to take this particular mark are themselves become damned:

Revelation 19:20
20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.  KJV

Those of us who resist taking this mark in the Tribulation shall be greatly rewarded by God for remaining faithful to Jesus Christ:

Revelation 20:4
4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.  KJV

     But none of this has to do with us getting a tattoo today, or piercing our ears or whatnot―unless it is done in some ceremonial environment―unless it is used to illustrate paganism.  (And many do this!).

     This author himself has tattoos on his biceps.  I acquired them when I was younger because all the guys that I hung-out with at the time had them.  There certainly wasn't any spiritual significance to them for me.  And if I thought that they were a sin I would have them laser-removed tomorrow. 

     Question: if I had no tattoos today, would I go out and get one?  No, I would not.  What you put on your body stays there long after you grow as a person and a Christian.  But I am not ashamed of them either.  They are pretty much a non-issue with me.  Although I cringe when I see young people, especially girls, getting large pieces inked onto visible parts of their bodies―these tattoos won't be so "cool" to them when they get older and enter the workplace, have children, and basically grow up.    

Yin-Yang Symbol

     Also, be careful of some of the, what are referred to as: "Tribal Patterns," many of them contain hidden occultic signs and symbols.  And avoid other religion's symbols, such as the Yin-Yang that seems popular among Martial-Artists and "laid-back" types.  It is a pagan symbol.  Basically, if you do not fully understand a design―do not get it permanently affixed to your body. 

     Speaking as one who has two tattoos: it is better to not get a tattoo, because people type-cast you based upon your tattoo―when you may be an entirely different person that they perceive from your tattoos.  Think ahead before you do something like this.  This is especially relevant to the Christian; we are supposed to present a better image.  At the time that I got mine, I was not a hard-core Christian; and looking back, I wish that I had not gotten them.

Why do so few warn of the Tribulation and it's drivers?

Hi Nick, 

I'm new to your site, can't think how I found it.  I've been going for years in total disappointment in not moving forward from the same old information about God.  I knew there was more than the sitting, standing, sitting, singing, and having the scripture yelled at to me while poking paper in my ears from the too loud music.  Its been heartbreaking.  I don't even know anyone who feels the same, who is searching, yearning for more of God.  Church teachings and groups are shallow, repetitive, without depth...and without a "giant" plan. 

When I first started reading about some of the things in which you write, I couldn't hold it all in my head.  I had to dwell upon it.  In never hearing about what has been around for centuries, I had to wonder if it was true.  Could something that has been right before my eyes been unseen and unheard for my entire life?  Why has there never, ever been a teacher that has addressed the "real" sin of Eve and Adam?  Why hasn't the world of Christian teachers taught about the lies of the "real" chosen people of God?  Why has the world of television evangelists taken part in the lies of sending money to a false people that aren't the chosen of God?  Why hasn't the Christians that should be true brothers and sisters revealed truth from the platform of the T.V. media in which "they" own?  Doubt and distrust runs thick through my veins.  And who is interested enough, or cares so that there is someone to talk to, to share all this with???  And when the time comes, where is there to run, and who is there to run with? 

Small bits has been heard about our police and military being trained to arrest US citizens in the end times...and that was 10-15 years ago.  I remember years ago hearing Pres. Bush, Sr., talking about the NWO.  I know the RCC [Roman Catholic Church] sleeps with the enemy.  So how close is the hammer from actually coming down, I mean, have I got enough time to lose a few pounds so I can run faster?!
